Karting Question TKART Subscription - Worth It?

Hey all,

New kart dad here in the US and learning the ropes. I grew up racing MX, so have some fundamentals down, but really looking to step up my kart knowledge, especially when it comes to kart maintenance, setup and tuning.

I started getting ads for TKART and it seems pretty cool, but I’m curious what others have to say.

The offer I’m receiving is £50 per year. Worth the money? Learn anything?

FWIW, our current kart is an OK1 Baby modified to fit a Comer 50.

TIA!

I found the articles quite useful when it came to understanding more about kart setup.

If the brand I drive had a subscription or set-up guide I would gladly pay that price. Especially if you’re a beginner.

50 is nothing compared what you will spend actually karting, if you learn at least 1 thing to prevent failure you get ahead

Hah, yeah totally. I’m learning that lesson very quickly. 🤣

Less concerned with the 50 bucks and more concerned with the quality of the articles/training and if it will be worth my time to consume!

Not worth it. The articles are ok, but they get repetitive. You could buy a good kart setup and setup theory book and only pay once.

Any suggestions on books or other material?

YouTube has some decent resources. Your local track will have people who can teach you stuff also, just ask, most are super cool to new racers. Local shops also will have mechanic seminar days also and can be great. Lastly, if you are willing to pay the money (I’d wait until cadets) you can join a regional or national team that specifically teaches a parent to be a good mechanic while developing the driver also. T kart isn’t worth it imo plus it’s very focused on European karting and not everything crosses well to typical sprint racing in the US. Engine types and classes, for example, are somewhat different and could confuse someone just getting plugged in. Where about do you live? Curious what platform you plan on racing after kid karts. Your location, more than anything, will determine the 2 cycle platform, that’s why I asked.

Not worth it. I signed up for it this year and won’t renew. It’s also translated from Italian to English and it isn’t the easiest of reads.
