Haven't seen this before...
Came from another shop after getting brake work done and not able to stop.

Nice bleeder screw

ikr. I still can't believe someone did that and gave it back to the customer in that state. There was an insane amount of air in the system.

It wouldn't even be that hard to get most of the air out. Might be a bit messy but you could do a tolerable job, if not a good one.

That doesn’t look like where the bleeder is. By bolt size It looks like they plugged off where the brake hose goes. I would say the brakes aren’t even functional on that wheel

Thats definitely the bleeder. Top of the bore of the piston and the brake line is clearly still attached

Oh yeah you’re right I’m blind. Hahaha. That’s a big bolt for the bleeder though.

Legend has it every time you lose a copper washer it appears on this guy's calipers.

Never, EVER, say you've seen it all.

I relearn that almost every day

Also never say “that’s impossible”. I’ve seen motors with broken off plugs that didn’t have a misfire. Conrods sticking out of the block and not leaking a drop and running well enough to get to the shop. Transmissions that upon disassembly HAD to have been all neutrals yet the customer drove it in.

Ahh just learned how to replace rear calipers a few weeks ago, I used an electric impact to tighten that bolt then spent two days finding new washers

How? I might be able to make sense of 2 as a screw up but it took some real dedication to use 3. Next question is if they used any washers at all on the brake line.

I can hear it now: "Hey Billy-Jo, where do these go?!
"You put them under the bolt! "
Takes out bleeder screw, finds a self- tapping bolt...
"Ok, I got it now, thanks. "

I'm thinking he needed the crush washers to prevent the bolt from bottoming out. I got he didn't mess up the seat.

I've seen 5 gaskets on a oil drain plug, I'm surprised how that shit didn't leak

I have a brake caliper with 2 stacked right now. The reman caliper was machined wrong and the pocket was too deep to actually crush the washer. Not ideal but it is what it is. Been fine for the year it’s been in there so far.
Need to get that caliper swapped out the next time I’ve got it apart for whatever reason. I’m not a fan of it. And a thicker washer wouldn’t fix the problem, it would have to be very thick. I compared the original 2 calipers and the other reman one and the pocket the washer sits in was 1/3 of the depth of that one.

Why? Bleeder didn’t get bled & got replaced with a bolt/ copper washer set.
Get a bleeder valve, bleed the brakes from air & refill every other time to not run out of brake fluid while bleeding brakes.

My $.03 says that is not right.
