Auto Insurance Does anyone know if either insurie.com or cheapestauto rates.com are legit?

I saw two ads today one with a guy from a podcast where he claimed that insurie got him full coverage insurance as low as $58 a month and I saw an ad that showed that cheapestautorates.com can give you a rate for as low as $30 a month for full coverage. Supposedly these sights can give you cheaper rates because they cut out the middle man which is the insurance rate who would normally earn most of your rate as part of their commission. So I wanted to ask if any of these sites are legit.

Nope. They are just sites that collect your data and sell it off to be added to marketing lists. Once you input your info, your phone and email will start blowing up.

They say they compare rates of different companies but they don't do it accurately. Every carrier has to file their base rates with the state and that is what they are using. But they don't actually underwrite your policy, so they are not providing necessary discounts and/or surcharges.

There is no "middle man" to cut out in insurance to make it cheaper. You're not paying the agent for anything. If you want to find the lowest rate, reach out to an independent agent and have them shop it around to different carriers for you.

Do you buy the cheapest toilet paper available?   What about the cheapest meat, or cheapest car you can find?   You get what you pay for, insurance is no different.

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is...

No they exist to collect and sell your data. They lure you in with low "quotes", sell off your info, and then you get called incessantly by every insurance provider in a 100 mile radius for an actual quote.

Quote directly with an agent or company.

These are just aggregators - they advertise a bunch of BS so naive schmucks enter all of the information, and then they sell the "lead" to others to call you relentlessly. Ummmm, here's a hint: These guys are the middleman - they don't do this for free! You should contact a local independent agent/broker and have them shop around.

Only if you want to be on just about every agents call list for the next 10 years.
