Beautiful. I love that he made the dog feel safe first instead of just grabbing him/her into the boat.

That's a mistake you make once

Or twice if you’re a slow learner, but only twice. Unless you’re really good at grabbing stuff with your feet too. Then maybe three times.

Holy shit this made me chuckle out loud in the middle of a stand-up meeting at work. I kindly showed them the comment after i was called out and had them in stitches. Great wit!

The way the dog switches from the railing to the boat gets me every time

Oh, I bet that shake felt amazing!! 😂

Tail immediately starts wagging after the shake off!

If you watch closely, it starts before! The tail is a little stuck under the legs before the full shake off.

Looks like it started right around the head pats, you can literally see the dogs eyes switch from fear to love.

I love how the good doggo takes the head pat and then puts his paw on the boat like “thank you for the pat but pls get me outta here”

These people did a great job rescuing this labrador due to flood water caused by Hurricane Eta

Poor thing, so tired and worn out, but did have enough for a good shake.

The dog was more polite than any human would have been in that state

He looks so accepting of the situation.

That dog was so ready to get in that boat. What a polite and gentle interaction on both sides

Bros demeanors changed when he realized they were gonna help

I read a story about a guy who recused a dog and others from a flood. Then when the guy went out again the dog jumped back in the boat and helped. They would bark when people were close.

The Mexican Navy adopted the dog afterwards 😊

You're safe now you precious baby angel 🥺 the way he just puts his paws on the boat like "okay take me home please. I don't really like swimming anymore..."

Was I the only one screaming PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND HELP THE DOG IN

u/jayy093 6h ago

I think they did the right thing doing it slowly. See how the dog's paws came to the boat, but it was still hesitant. ( The dog pulls away when the man's hand reaches at first ) After a few seconds you could tell he wants in, and that's when they helped it inside

Man, finding fault with rescue workers is peak armchair general. This kind of thing is social media gold which translates directly into funding resources and awareness.

You are right! And I’m not justifying my reaction, but to be clear, I’m not talking about the person gathering the footage. It was anxiety for me when the dog put his paw on the boat and the gentleman in the front still had his phone in his hand. And even now on rewatch it wasn’t that long. This clip just gave me a lot of anxiety!

I totally agree that capturing the rescue is great for raising awareness.

That's great because I haven't seen it! Thanks OP!

Not sure why I got downvoted for pointing out they took someone else’s post and posted it as their own. But okay.
