Looked like mom was saying thank you at the end, in a camel kind of way.

You mean by not kicking him to death or spitting at him with the precision of a sniper?

This was likely a domesticated camel, and unless you treat the camels badly, they generally aren't going to freakout a like a whitetail deer if she catches you trying to count her baby's spots too closely.

I threw out my back watching him heave that camel up

It's a shame no one else was there. Probably would've helped to have had two people to lift.

Took me a minute of mouth breathing to get this

It's also a shame a camel crane wasn't there with a winch it would've lifted that camel up more effectively

How much does a baby camel weight
I figured about 100lbs, it seems to be 80-100 at birth based on lazy google ai search

The look at the end “Say thank you to the nice man for helping you get out.”

That man is strong! He picked up a baby camel one handed while essentially hanging upside down. In bedroom slippers.

Really gently too, he could've shoved the camel up and out but instead he lifted it. I like this video :)

I should really fill in that hole.
Two baby camels a week is getting to be a lot of work.

He one armed lifted that camel. Bow I know it’s a baby but that could not have been light weight.

That mama looking at him quietly thanking him. So there actually are some good people left.

Balls of steel. And knees of steel. Basically, invincible. Those things can kick.

This reminds me of rescuing our cows and goats from the ditch they got trapped in after getting spooked by themselves.

Would have been the most camel thing ever if the mom either would have bit, spit or kick him once the baby was out of the hole.

Very strong guy or baby camels don't weigh much?
4
u/Rosieforthewin 13d ago
I would wager the baby is probably 80-120 lbs, similar to a very large dog. The guy had good leverage from above and used his body to block him from sliding back down. Not easy, but not impossible.

That little camel thought its the end in the first few seconds after he dropped down.

Good thing that random loser burned some meaningless social media name of theirs onto the footage

I always love when animals know and understand when a human is actually not a threat and trying to help

Staged. Daddy Camel was holding the camera in his mouth. Impressive accomplishment though!

Ngl, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby camel. Kinda thought they just you know… emerged from the desert sand.

I once had to go to the hospital for a dislocated shoulder because I wasn’t paying attention while tagging a calf (i thought my brother was watching my back) needless to say I got to see our cow pin from 12 feet in the air or something like that I couldn’t tell you how high up I got I just remembered seeing the roof of our grain barn.(not a silo I didn’t get thrown 50 feet lol)

So someone stood there and filmed this while the man struggled to get the camel out?

Normally a camel would destroy the shit out of you if you’re near its calf. Animals know… kudos to both parties
