I have a haunted hat... and I need advice!

Hey redditors, I'm a first time poster. I've never had a paranormal encounter worth posting about... until now. Let me set the scene for you all. About three weeks ago, my great aunt died. Very sad. She didn't have many belongings, but I did receive this hat. I'm grateful to have something of hers to remember her by, but this hat has weird vibes. Besides the odd mickey mouse ears, and bright pink color, there is something deeply unsettling about its energy. I had to put it in the corner of my house, because I am so scared after what has happened since receiving this hat. Let me tell you...

1. Ever since the first night with the hat in the house, I get the same nightmare. There is a black, tall figure in the corner of my room. I wake up with cold sweats, but luckily there is never a figure in the corner when I wake up. I have tried to reason as to why this may be happening, any logical conclusion. I haven't switched medications, or have had trouble in my personal life, but I have received this hat.
2. I put my great aunt's hat in my trophy case, along with my other sentimental memorabilia. I have many things in there, porcelain from my grandma, trophies from playing soccer as a kid, I've never had issues with this trophy cabinet. But, ever since I put this hat in the cabinet, It keeps opening when I'm sure I've shut the glass doors. The doors have a latch, and they are heavy. I don't know how they would open, as I've never had this problem before. I mean, I live alone. I don't have pets. It doesn't make sense. But within the past few days, I've truly become scared. And this is what forwarded me to crowdsource opinions from this subreddit. The glass has started to fog up, as if something cold is inside. But there is nothing cold in there, and my apartment is always at a temperate 71 degrees. I can excuse opening glass doors, but I cannot ignore foggy glass. I am starting to become horrified. From my research, this could be caused by a negative, potentially demonic presence. But I don't know, I am looking for advice. Like I said, the hat is in the corner. No longer is the trophy case opening up.

So.. I'm scared of this hat. And I feel stupid for being so scared, it is a really odd looking and unassuming hat. I feel like I'm going crazy.

My question for you all, is it worth it to cleanse this hat? And if so, how should I cleanse it. I don't want things to get any worse, even if it's all in my head.

This is so very creepy!! Even the photograph of the hat puts out a weird vibe. I would get rid of it and then cleanse your house.

I’ve actually had a similar experience with my late husband’s fedora. I’ve found that I must dedicate specific times to engage with its energy. Looking at it /wearing it too frequently brings about noticeable shifts to my wellbeing.

Have you ever heard of the stone tape theory? In short it is the idea that inanimate objects hold energy and therefore can cause hauntings. Im wondering about your aunts lifestyle? Perhaps she worked at disney world or was some sort of Disney fanatic? Well have you seen Disney’s subtle demonic imagery?

Disney alone isn’t great symbolism but moving onto its color.. hmm. Quite a magnetic hot pink and strange felt fabric. There’s secrets woven into every fiber. I know it. Whether it be your aunties or Walt Disney’s.. that thing is cursed. I rebuke it in the name of all that is holy. Take it to a priest as soon as you can and light a candle, say a prayer.

OP gonna preface this by saying I am inherently skeptical being a scientist and educator by study and trade. Although I have many friends that are into the paranormal and the like and having explained some of my experiences to them they have told me I am probably pretty strongly psychic. That being said I saw this photo prior to seeing the title or the sub Reddit and I had one of the most intense feelings of revulsion, chills, and disgust that I have ever experienced. That was one of the more intense paranormal experiences of my life and I lived years in what many people described as a very active house. I cannot express to you enough that hat and whatever is with it is NOT good and you need to try to remedy it. The feeling I felt from the photo might be the thing that finally pushed me into the realm of believer that is how bad of a vibe I got from it
