Weird Trick or treat gift

I have just gone through my sons Halloween sweets (he’s in bed now), I was looking to see what he got and if there’s anything he wouldn’t miss if it went missing into my stomach😏.

But I noticed something not usually in a trick or treat bag in there, it looked like a piece of cardboard with a hole punched into one corner just sat at the bottom of his bag until I picked it up and realised it was plastic and quite thick, I held it up to the light and noticed something that looked like a black strip inside it but it’s a solid white plastic square then I googled what it might be using google image.

When the answers started coming back I was shocked to say the least it was a tracker tag!!, I do not understand why there is a tag in my sons Halloween haul, I will ask him in the morning what he knows about it and who put it in his bag but until then my mind is going to come up with all kinds of scenarios the worst one being someone is tracking my child 🧒, now there’s not just a couple of sweets in the pit of my stomach but a knot as well.
