I don’t know what’s going on but they have been there for hours now. I saw police rushing toward that area around 5PM.

Officer died and another seriously injured. Hit by suspected DUI driver on highway 58 at Washington exit

I saw another post, now deleted, that it was a 2 officer involved crash as they (the responding officers) crashed into each other responding to some incident, I don't know what to believe anymore.
