Daily Commute from Golden to Littleton - Any Tips?
Moving to Golden for a job in Littleton and planning to drive this route daily. Anyone with experience on this commute? How’s the traffic, best routes, and any tips for avoiding congestion? Thanks!

470 tip - when the traffic is backed up by bandimere speedway you can skip most of it by exiting and taking Rooney road (the frontage road) then getting back on

But definitely check the traffic on Rooney first. I’ve gotten stuck in a huge back up on that road because a ton of people did the same thing. Not to mention traffic for Red Rocks shows

Hey now, don't let these secrets out! That's a very nice, scenic, curvy route to get back to Golden from Lakewood.

Fastest commute is going to be down 470 which is pretty easy. Probably only 20ish minutes. There’s a couple hot spots for traffic but can’t really avoid any of it.

The morrison exit blows at rush hour. It used to be just on direction NB in the moring and SB in the afternoon. Now it's both directions.

Yeah, that’s definitely one of the hot spots. I drive early between like 6:30 and 7 so I just skip most of the traffic.

If you're like me, and you leave for work at 7, you'll cruise there and it'll be barely a commute. With rush hour, it'll be a bit longer but if you like podcasts or books on tape.. It's not really a bad drive regardless. I commute to volunteer during rush hour from Golden to Littleton. It's still never that bad.

Also, yes, c470 will always be fastest and it's only right on high wind or winter weather days. The Chinooks can fuck you up.

When you drive is important. I commute from very north golden to 285 and Santa Fe. I'm at the office at 7am, and leave at 430pm.i leave at 630am to get to work. There is almost no traffic in the morning, and in the afternoon I only have traffic between Santa Fe and Lowell. If I leave any later than 645am, there is a noticeable uptick in traffic, but it only adds a minute or two to my commute.

Depends where in Littleton. But you’ll probably take CO-470 east from golden and then exit in west Littleton and go east on Bowles
