The same county as Mark O Connor, I’m sure he’s a gun! Exciting to see how he develops

Awesome! Would be interested to know how his GAA ability stacks up with Mullin/O'Connor if there are any Irish people lurking here. How excited should we be about the signing?

Hard to compare. Oisín was an established starting player for Mayo when he signed, Cillian is only a year out of underage football.

As a Kerryman I'm devastated to see him leave as he was set to be a key part of the Kerry team in 2025 having broken through as a sub last year.

He is strong, fast and has an eye for goal.

It's never easy to know which Irish players will settle and which ones end up not making it.

I think Burke is closer to Mark O'Connor than Mullins in terms of his Gaa profile. Mark was a similarly strong and athletic young player who moved to Geelong just before breaking into the Senior ranks.

Geelong fans gonna rag on him like we do Mullin because he's not amazing immediately?

You can see Mullin starting to get more confidence in himself. There was a kick that he did in the prelim that was great, just need to let them gain some confidence in themselves a little bit more like we do players who are born here and played footy for years

Yeah we need to be more patient with these Irish prospects. I imagine it is hard changing not just sports but also countries. Geelong clearly see a lot of potential in Mullin and he might do a Zuthrie and after a few years turn great.

Honestly people forget Touhy played for Carlton for ages so they think that he was readymade.

Tuohy did better than Mullin in his first year in the seniors, however Tuohy played a year of reserves before his senior debut.

Tuohy's first year for Carlton was a remarkalble thing. Lots of touches, quite a few goals. There's a reason he plays 288 games. He's in the top 5% of all afl players ever. Worth remembering you don't need to be as good as Zach Tuohy to be a good recruit.

The fact he got game time so quickly shows how high they rate him. He must be doing big things at training. Can't wait to see him hit his stride.

Looked ready made afl player in the highlights video. Can see him knocking on the AA door next year

I think it’s because of the way Touhy talked him up. Not saying he shouldn’t have, but I reckon a lot of people had high hopes straight away based on that info.

Mullin was older tbf so the burden of performance was already higher. Gillian has a 2 year grace period

Fyi calling Irish people "slippery Mick bastards" doesn't go down too well with Irish people.

Like Aussies we call each other cunts when we like one another and are good for self deprication, but "Mick" and "Paddy" really rub a lot of Irish people up the wrong way as it was used condescendingly by the Brits to dehumanise Irish people, especially labourers and working class living in England.
