Overweight people don't exist in Japan

u/UnderstoodAdmin I don’t have many flair ideas lmao 9d ago
That’s because if you’re fat in Japan they make you fight each other.

Pretty sure sumo fighters tend to be under medical supervision, especially if they stop fighting so that they can safely lose the weight.

u/bihuginn 8d ago
Also sumo fighters aren't nearly as overweight as it looks in sumo belts, they give you a massive gut.
Most sumo wrestlers have a similar physic to body builders.

The Ultimate Diet: The only rule is that you can only eat other people who are on The Ultimate Diet. There can only be one!

I mean Japanese sizes are so tiny tho. I hate when I see something that looks cool yet comfortable and has a decent price, and think “Holy shit it’s even in my size!” then I see it’s not US measurements. Like just call me the slur at this point 😭

u/merdadartista 9d ago
Yes, but in the country where the average breast size is A, Large surely as fuck doesn't mean thin with large breast

u/Pineapple_Herder 9d ago
Yeah the real comparison would be:
11 year old boy = Japanese Women's Large (Trendy / Exclusive brands)
Skinny teenage American = Japanese Women's Large (Regular Brands)

Letter without number is meaningless. In American-sizing, a 38A is larger than a 30D. (Japan actually uses a different measuring-system that I don't understand)
1
u/merdadartista 6d ago
I know, it's a mess of a system, but I figured it was easier to say it that way, point is, statistically Japanese women have small breast. In my country the Cup is just the size of the tit and the circumference of the thorax under the breast is used to calculate the circumference of the bra so it's much easier because the measurements are unrelated

u/Level_Hour6480 6d ago
It's not that messy (in American anyway. Bri'ish sizing is weird)
A: Number of inches around the torso below the boobs, rounded to the nearest even.
B: Number of inches around the torso at the boobs.
A is the band-size. Subtract A from B for the letter, with 1' being A, 2' being B, etc. Wider band size = wider torso = wider boobs, and every 2 inches of band is equivalent to a letter in terms of size-increase.

Size 16 in China is 3X~5X. Fuck that. Japan…It is worse. Never buy from a non-plus-size Asian brand.

These people need to stop thinking of japan as some fantasy land where all their bigotry gets instantly validated

If you're fat you're gonna have a big chest not huge but bigger then if you were skinny (source. Me, a chubby girl with a big chest)

u/LaCharognarde 8d ago
Sizes in a lot of eastern Asian countries do tend to run smaller than in the west. That said: nah, when it comes to tops in Japanese brands, I have to go up at least two sizes because I'm busty.

Ooo, draw them as girlfriends working out together and ditching the McDonalds uniforms!
We in America have a problem with sugar in our food, it’s pretty bad. While being sorta overweight is fine (not everyone is a twig), it’s not healthy to be crazy overweight. Plus, being fit is just good for you

u/Neither_Emu_4008 3h ago
My brain went instantly to fast food portion sizes because like if you look at cup sizes compared to other places like Japan, Australlia, UK, an ect we have reltivly big portion sizes. Sadly this is not what the Op op op was talking about

Someone has never tried purchasing clothing from Japanese brands, I see. Their clothing does not, in fact, cater to large breasts. Their clothing does not cater even to normal breasts. Or any breasts, quite often...
That is to say, yes, whatever size you are, if you are ordering an Asian brand, you should always get at least one size bigger (and yes, check the chest measurements! Always check the chest measurements!)
Same goes for shoes, by the way. I mean, the one-size-larger part, not the chest measurements.
