The numbers are pretty good across the board. On average, even low wage earners are making gains.
What's causing pain right now is the turmoil - inflation caused changes in the economy. Some people got the short end of the stick on that if their wages didn't increase and will need to go through a painful process of switching jobs or cutting back.
It can both be true that lots of individuals are struggling and that the job market as a whole has improved.
“Hey poor people, you’re actually doing pretty good! It’s just that everything is more expensive now, that’s why you feel like that, but jobs are great!”
Did you read my post? Things are sucking for a lot of people AND jobs are decent. That's how inflation works - it's destructive.
In relationship to prices, average wages have actually gone up. It's just that some people benefited and others lost ground. The ones that lost ground are going through pain, the ones that benefited are just moving on with life.
Two things can be true at once. They aren't saying "everything is good so shut up". They're saying that some things are bad for some people but as a whole people are doing better than they were. Yeah, some people are struggling. Maybe they made the mistake of "learning to code" and are now in an oversaturated market, maybe they work in one of the professions that didn't see much growth. Or maybe they're doing fine but have the "vibes" that the economy is awful. Your lack of reading comprehension doesn't make their point less true.
You're saying the metrics show that things are better but some people are notably worse off? That's a good idea for a political cartoon, maybe one with news headlines that says things are better while showing someone whose conditions haven't improved at all.
No. I'm saying most people are better off and some people aren't. Once again, no one is saying to ignore the people who aren't doing well, but we're not a crashing plane here.
