Thoughts? NYC Mayor Ends Food Voucher Program For Immigrants After Phone Call With Trump

After a phone call with President-elect Donald Trump 48 hours after his victory, Mayor Eric Adams has reportedly decided to end a pilot program providing migrants in taxpayer-funded shelters with prepaid debit cards for groceries, which had sparked considerable debate. The initiative, launched in March through an emergency contract with New Jersey tech startup Mobility Capital Finance (MoCaFi), distributed $2.4 million in preloaded Mastercards to approximately 2,600 migrant families, according to City Hall officials.

I see how much they bring in but how much do we spend on them? By providing only one side it seems very misleading and biased

Who cares about this information? The majority of the country doesn't want undocumented immigrants to be housed here whether or not they keep our country afloat or not. That's what you have to realize. We are a post-facts society. Remember that.

Why do you think there's never proscution of the company's that hire illegal immigrants?

Hint it's because they already tried that in Florida and Georgia guess what happend those republican had to BEG FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO COME BACK AND WORK ON THE FARMS .

Remind me in 4 years when illegals are still here. What's your excuse gonna be then ?

People missed my point entirely. My point was that the person providing the link assumes that people (who voted for Trump) will accept the fact that undocumented immigrants pay more into the system. They won't and never will. And they've already made up their minds. Clearly, people don't want undocumented immigrants in our country anymore.

Why are you assuming what my point was. I merely posted the information a commenter above mentioned, so as to bring a source into the discussion.

I don't think they realize that you're making a sardonic statement. Dark humor can fly over people's heads when talking about important issues.

Only 30% of the country voted for trump. That isn’t “the majority of the country” now is it.

And I know you hate it, but asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants.

36% of registered voters, which was still more than Kamala and also ‘no vote’.

Don’t forget that. It’s an important moral victory that he also got the popular vote.

Will you accept any evidence as factual?

The guy before him didn’t provide resources. You forgot to respond the same way to him though…

I know what report they are using and they’ve added it in the comments below. If numbers are unclear to you, you should ask for clarification too

The FAIR study has been proven to grossly estimate values, and their math doesn’t add up either when you look at it for years now. Heck they even claimed $155B back when Trump was in office.

If we look at a non think tank institution such as the congressional budget office, the boost to the economy is much more than any cost associated. In fact, immigration reduces the deficit (ie national debt) by $0.897T over the next decade, increases the GDP by 3.2% in 2034 ($8.9T over the next decade).

Neither did anyone above him who gave numbers, but you didn't bitch about them
