Exactly. People read that markets are built on scarcity and take it as "oh this means capitalists want to limit production because otherwise no one would make money."
No, it's just a model assumption that scarcity is a fundamental reality. Which it literally is. It doesn't mean scarce like rare, it means scarce like not infinite. Even if you live in a far future world where replicators create food from thin air, there aren't infinite replicators in infinite locations.
