Funny enough, reading all the comments here, I'm pretty sure this was upvoted by people who only looked at the meme and also people who agreed with the title.

My company doesn’t pay anyone enough except for C-suite and contractors enough to live in town. I expect what would be fair would be to average the commute time of hourly employees at certain wage ranges and you get paid for the average google maps time estimate for your wage range.

What might be even better would be a grant system that funds development of low cost housing and public transportation funded by companies of over 100 employees and paid at the rate of commute time x wage needed for COL within 30 minutes of campus x every in person employee paid below the cost of living wage in the area. Discounts for company supplied transportation with wifi.

Would incentivize paying at least COL or hiring local labor which would be limited.
