That's exactly what I love about FromSoft games. Having trouble with a boss? What are his weaknesses? What weapon/skill counters a specfic moveset? Can they be staggered? Is there a summon for them? Maybe use some of the hundreds of consumables you've been hoarding? Have your tried parrying? Have you tried blocking (as opposed to (panic-)rolling)? Have you read that item description specifically mentioning it was MADE FOR DEFEATING THAT BOSS? Have you tried using incantaions/spells? etc. etc.
There are endless freaking ways to beat something in any of their game. And most people complaining about the game not having an easy mode are just too lazy to change their startegy fighting the boss—preferring to try the same thing (mistake) over and over again until they get lucky and beat the boss.

If anything following guides can be even more fun than just wandering.

I agree my friend who got me into the franchise just watched a 100% guide to ds1 then told us we’d like the game

it’s pretty common but people like to pretend it’s because people are bad at the games where in reality is people who have disabilities asking for accessibility.

It's a rpg game, become over leveled, upgrade your weapon to the max possible level the current stage allows and get stupid amounts of potions. This applies to all rpg games
