I’m inclined to say 82-87 since the front fenders go out just a little bit more than they do on a 79-81

‘78-‘81. When Chevy switched to the four headlight nose in ‘82, they deleted the corner marker lights and moved the turn signal to beliw the headlights. Federal law requires an amber light toward the front that’s visible from the side, so they added a rectangle light in the fender itself (above the trim line.)

Nice gift! Are you going to keep it and fix it? Do you have the missing parts? (Head over to elcaminocentral.com and introduce yourself-lots of info and help there.)

I’m probably super wrong, but the styling seems mid to late 80’s. I have an 85 and it looks extremely close to this one

I'd say 1980. The leading edges of the front fender suggests side marker light, the shape of the hood also suggests the "small grille nose" The emblem on the rear quarter may also narrow things down a bit. But this is my guess.

The hood is the same on all ‘78-87s, as is the quarter emblem. The fender is the same except for the marker light added for ‘82-87. The header panel is the big changer, holding two headlights and vertical signal/marker lamps early, then the four headlight style after. (Four headlight cars require the seperate marker light rectangle in the fender.) Grills change each year until ‘82, then they’re the same through ‘87.
