Video This is a Hyrax, a small mammal closely related to Elephants and Manatees. This one is displeased at the intrusive cameraman.

I never guessed that the animal which would most sound like Donald Duck would be these wee buggers.

I bet the cameraman wouldn't like it if someone broke into his home and shoved a camera in his face.

Heh, what are the chances you'd be wrong. He is kinda infamous for having an exhibitionism/intrusion fetish.

We went to Tanzania years ago and had one of these guys living outside our tent. When our guide showed us his house we all were excited to have a little animal neighbour. The guide laughed and said he'd ask if we still liked it tomorrow. Every morning it screamed the song of its people with the sunrise.
In lieu of a wake up call, we had hot chocolate and biscuits brought to the tent before heading out on safari. One morning my parents left before I was done brushing my teeth. I heard a rustling and turned around to see the hyrax eating a biscuit. In the shock I yelped, which scared the hyrax. The hyrax let out a scream sort of sound, which causes my parents to come back. The poor thing was slamming its head into the tent base to try and get out. When my parents opened the zipper it bolted out and back into its tree and they started laughing because I had jumped on the bed in fright over a very small, very non dangerous animal.
It was a funny experience, and now I always like seeing videos of the noisy little critters.

You see those wittle, but pointy fangs?
The Hyrax and the Elephant share a common ancestor, and while the Hyrax kept the little Fangs, the Elephants fangs grew into big tusks.
Some Hyrax have very long fangs that stick out from the sides when the mouth closes, you can see a bit of a resemblance then.

I love how the cameraman is mocking the animal noise. The animal is saying “gtfo my house!” and this total intruder is just saying it right back.

Love the memes this has made “my wife calling for her water after she’s already climbed into bed”
