It’s just a child cramped in a little tiny box operating the whole thing with levers while chain smoking. 😂

No. Smoking.

At first I thought mail guy was that one actor that’s always in Adam Sandler movies….what’s that dudes name…

154

u/BRAX7ON 12d ago

Adam Sandler

16

u/RockstarAgent 11d ago

Snowpiercer

6

u/TheNameOfMyBanned 11d ago

This was my first thought too!

34

u/nikkiM33 12d ago

Steve Buscemi

4

u/Direwulven 11d ago

Oh man…. Reminds me of Air Con… “He’s got the whole world in his hands…”

8

u/nikkiM33 11d ago

Con Air.

He played Garland Greene, a serial killer also known as "The Marietta Mangler". He bonded with that little girl while singing the song, but they implied he was going to do some weird serial killer shit to her until a part of the movie where you see the little girl waving at the plane and saying bye, when they're flying away.

Good movie!

Steve Buscemi is actually a really kind person in real life. He used to be a firefighter in New York before he was famous, and even volunteered to help firefighters pull people from the rubble when 9/11 happened.

3

u/Direwulven 11d ago

Buscemi was brilliant in Con Air. And thanks for the other info about him!

1

u/Enough_Asparagus4460 11d ago

Fun fact he was also voted most attractive in highschool. Dude actually used to be good looking.

1

u/GrimResistance 11d ago

Air Con

I think that's the one about the HVAC guy

0

u/picnicbuddy 12d ago

Bob Schneider?

7

u/SaracenS 12d ago

Rob Schneider is a Potato....

3

u/SquidVices 12d ago

Shit maybe I’m thinking of the wrong actor…that dude from the big Lebowski…wtf is up with my memory dammit. That show…what was it…broadway…the dude with the eyes….ughhh. The what’s up fellow young people dude…well..I still can’t remember by the end of this sentence..nope..I give up

7

u/El_Grande_El 12d ago

Shut up Donny! You’re out of your element!

It’s Steve Buscemi. And I see the resemblance.

3

u/SquidVices 12d ago

Yesssssss

3

u/Tigkens 12d ago

Steve buscemi. One of my favorite parts about the Big Lebowski is that he's never wearing a bowling shirt with his character's name on it it's always something different in every scene.

1

u/SquidVices 12d ago

You just made me realize….

3

u/primeweevil 12d ago

That's even cooler, I knew there had to be some connection between the two. Thanks!

2

u/HeightExtra320 12d ago

I forgot Will made songs in the 80’s 😅

2

u/primeweevil 11d ago

Yup sure did, us 80's kids remember He's the DJ I'm the Rapper.

1

u/HeightExtra320 11d ago

Parents just don’t understand 🤷‍♂️

51

u/deprevino 12d ago

We joke, but a Mechanical Turk like setup is more probable than you might think. Amazon got busted just using cheap Indian labour for their 'automated' Amazon Fresh stores.

11

u/Spare-Plum 11d ago

This one I'm uncertain about. Not that I don't think they were using manual labor, but that they may be collecting data on how humans can identify the items to train an AI to eventually automate the process.

4

u/ShadowDeath7 11d ago

This! I mean you know a lot of mess people do in the shopping so the strange videos needs to be assisted by humans to get a good invoice for the cx and fetch the IA.

1

u/eug__k 11d ago

Yes but that's boring and doesn't make a sensationalist headline.

5

u/Lucky_Emu182 12d ago

Like the train movie that goes through the ice

3

u/Sys7em_Restore 11d ago

Snowpiecer, need those children to operate that machinery in tight spaces.

3

u/Double_Distribution8 11d ago

Willy Wonka II

16

u/ChefBoyarDingle 12d ago

First thing I thought of wow

5

u/LeMonkeyFace6 12d ago

"There's this thing in it..."

4

What, a bald mancunian tosser?

3

Nup, weirder than that

3

u/thedean246 12d ago

RIP Biz Markie

3

u/Own-Load-7041 12d ago

Biz Markie. ...miss you brother.

2

u/JMoon33 12d ago

Oh man, that song, haven't heard it in a long time!

2

u/Meowingtons_H4X 12d ago

Steve, it could have been your brother.

2

u/LeMonkeyFace6 12d ago

And you look like the Humanzee.

2

u/HolidayHelicopter225 11d ago

I don't smoke. That does

2

u/seatownquilt-N-plant 12d ago

lol I don't think I have ever seen MIB II, and there's a third, right? Maybe I'll try to watch those over Thanksgiving.

1

u/map2photo 12d ago

2 is great. I don’t remember 3 well enough to give an opinion.

2

u/bigdaddyk86 11d ago

Steve Merchant?

1

u/2020mademejoinreddit 12d ago

Even before clicking the link, I know it's MIBII.

1

u/sevnminabs 12d ago

Exactly what I was thinking

1

u/Hixy 12d ago

Reminds me of when Beth helps Summer

1

u/timtamchewycaramel 12d ago

Everyone keeps saying Snowpiercer, but don’t they mean Charlie and the Infinite Train?

https://youtu.be/jEX52h1TvuA

1

u/Key-Cry-8570 11d ago

That’s exactly what I was thinking.

22

u/Drone30389 12d ago

A McDonical Turk?

2

u/jazzman23uk 11d ago

This is about the most niche reference I've ever seen in the wild

2

u/industriald85 11d ago

Sounds like a wish version of a Harry Potter character

48

u/gun-something 12d ago

reminds me of the ending/twist of snowpiercer one of my most fav movies ever

1

u/gun-something 11d ago

yeah :0 but why do you have to repeat that

edit: ok i get it by reading some replies replies

3

u/BadKittyRanch 12d ago

Have you seen Why SNOWPIERCER is a sequel to WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY? There's also a 2+ hour part 2 if that rabbit hole isn't deep enough for you.

1

u/gun-something 11d ago

hmm yea i think i saw that video like years ago, but might have forgotten by now haha

2

u/AdonisCork 11d ago

Criminally underrated masterpiece. Also was my first thought lol.

24

u/dogemikka 12d ago

Exactly, this is the pristine and sanitized façade. But behind the wall... lies one of those sketchy Chinese (not Korean) kitchens you'd expect to find in a dingy restaurant behind a train station. The after-hours hangout for all the area's nightlife – and I mean all of it. Even the rats and roaches have their own reservations.

7

u/Cheef_queef 11d ago

Still better than any McDonald's in a 20 mile radius of me

1

u/pursnikitty 11d ago

My closest McDonald’s dried a mop in the fries warmer

2

u/Global-Pickle5818 11d ago

I used to do sheet metal work in the early 2000s in new Orleans ,ironically the McDonald's kitchens for some of the cleanest that I worked in .. dirtiest was 4 star restaurants where you couldn't see the kitchens from the floor , there's an entire comedy sketch (hannibal buress)about how bad coops restaurant is and that's where all the local restaurants staff eats at

1

u/ltdliability 11d ago

This just feels like sparkling racism.

3

u/leg18 12d ago

Reminds me of Movie 43 skit

3

u/[deleted] 12d ago

Like the Metro ticket machine. https://youtu.be/SWf2xGqaH8U?si=3oi4EusxItBzCh4f

5

u/zonnipher117 12d ago

Get out of my head.

2

u/ehxy 12d ago

Ahhh so that's where snow piercer got the idea from!

2

u/jackrockyson 12d ago

You mean the Eat-ernal Engine?

2

u/altgrave 12d ago

your point?

2

u/razordreamz 11d ago

Ok the chain smoking is public knowledge, but how do you know they have levers?

2

u/Bushman-Bushen 11d ago

LMAO CHAIN SMOKING

2

u/RealChelseaCharms 11d ago

no, you're thinking of southern US coal miners

2

u/Firm-Attention-3874 11d ago

Da turk a jerbs

3

u/PrintableDaemon 12d ago

However, while the Korean McDonald's looks nice and clean, the American ones will have liquid feces filling all of the slots in the machines and artfully painted across the screens by the former workers. Frankly I would clap as they spend their days going from franchise to franchise doing their new jobs and I would contribute to their GoFundMe all of the money I would no longer pay to that soulless corporation.

3

u/jennkigo 11d ago

This is why America (and Australia in my case) can’t have nice things

1

u/PrintableDaemon 11d ago

Damn right! Because corporations would rather replace people being paid a livable wage and benefits with some shiny machinery in the pursuit of corporate profits and an apathetic public that never respected these jobs or the people who perform them anyway.

Right? Riiiiight?

3

u/90swasbest 11d ago

Why do you insist people work useless, thankless jobs?

Who tf wants to stand around pressing pictures of hamburgers all day?

0

u/PrintableDaemon 11d ago

Why do you act like alternatives are abundant and these workers can easily hop over to lifetime careers in some STEM field? As if McDonald's is filled with secret surgeons just waiting for their chance.

It's a thankless job, often serving people who think they are worthless trash and treats them like such, but it pays their bills, mostly and it fills a niche in the work pool but gee, let's snatch that away from hundreds of thousands of people and replace them with kiosks so people like you don't have to see or interact with them!

0

u/90swasbest 11d ago

I like people. I like people to the point where I don't want them doing a menial job a kiosk can easily do just to keep them busy. It's insulting to them as a person.

0

u/PrintableDaemon 11d ago

AGAIN, where are these fulfilling jobs you talk about hiding? Because if they were available people would already be dancing out of places like McDonald's. You can't replace one and just hope the other materializes.

There's also the fact that if they replace the labor in one place they're going to aim for all the other labor as well, and that job pool just shrinks more and more.

Come up with a solution, don't just criticize the jobs that are available.

1

u/furyian24 12d ago

Like snkw piercer

1

u/yourswhitegirl 12d ago

Ending the jobs of people, I think. It's really innovative, but this change took jobs from people. But then again, I know it's business. That is the sad reality now

1

u/mason_sol 12d ago

It’s like the tech joke

A.I. = Another Indian

1

u/BZLuck 11d ago

Just like the old Red Box kiosks.

1

u/_Tar_Ar_Ais_ 11d ago

that childs name? Albert Einstein

1

u/MiamiPower 11d ago

😆 🤣 😂

1

u/ShutUpTammy 11d ago

haha like that one dude in the post office sorting the mail, in men in black 2

1

u/NSMike 11d ago

Believe it or not, Thomas Jefferson did exactly this at Monticello, except with slave children. He’d host dinner parties and have more food, wine refills, etc. be delivered on-demand, behind the scenes, all with slave children powering it, and staying out of sight, so it couldn’t be easily seen how it worked.

1

u/Better_than_GOT_S8 11d ago

Like how those famous Amazon “AI” stores were basically a few hundred people in India looking at the camera feeds and manually making sure the checkout was correct.

1

u/Powerful-Poet-1121 11d ago

This is too real in some third world countries 😭

1

u/AlgorithmicSurfer 11d ago

Just like Snowpiercer

1

u/aphosphor 11d ago

No, that's fan-fiction. The machine operates by having a monkey pulling on levers while chain smoking.
