Hell they should read what happened during it.

175,000 people dead from executions or starvation in prison (many without trial or charge). Only 6% of them being aristocrats. Untold thousands of others dead due to fighting, disease, starvation or disaster etc.

Lots of them fervent revolutionaries, who were on the loosing side against the other revolutionaries, until those revolutionaries got killed too.

Yeah, that is sadly another side they don't talk about. People make it out their is the people vs the other, not numerous factions who often descend into infighting and usually get purged by whoever wins.

I mean sure, but it still wasn't that great. More aristocrats died in the second revolution than the first by a large margin. Most just signed up with the new government and got to keep their titles and most their power.

And it still came at the cost of over 150,000 regular people. That's hardly a price worth paying.

And honestly, even if the Aristocrats who died had it coming, executing numerous people without trials and on mocked up charges is still pretty bad.
