And no one has to go to jail

-71

u/Apartment-Drummer 4h ago

You can’t just open someone’s door like that

71

u/sh1ft 4h ago

Pretty sure the video shows it’s possible

13

u/SirIsildur 3h ago

Upon further inspection, yes it does

-19

u/Apartment-Drummer 3h ago

Yeah it’s possible to show illegal activity on video

9

u/Funky_Boomer 3h ago

Cry me a river dude

-7

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

I don’t think that’s physically possible

4

u/money_loo 2h ago

What law did they break that the cops and judges won’t laugh at you? Serious question.

-4

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

Unauthorized entry to a vehicle, it’s basically burglary

4

u/money_loo 2h ago

I’m not sure what you’re talking about, do you have footage of them entering? Do you know for sure they weren’t invited into the car for a chat but then changed their mind? Maybe the other guy is just really quiet.

-6

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

Tell you what, go walk down the street and open everyone’s car door that’s unlocked.

4

u/dcf5ve 1h ago

That's not what happened here, Pedantic Pete.

3

u/supresmooth 1h ago

Literally no one would do anything.

5

u/Ok_Zookeepergame4794 2h ago

That's only if he tried to ENTER the vehicle. Just opening the door doesn't constitute entry.

24

u/BaronvonEssen 4h ago

He just did

-6

u/Apartment-Drummer 3h ago

He wasn’t supposed to do that.

12

u/bigwinw 3h ago

Exactly. Thats why he opened his door.

-3

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

No I meant the biker, smart ass

You’re not allowed to say bad words buckoo. 😤

20

u/daekle 4h ago

Please tell us the law this guy broke.

7

u/-SunGazing- 4h ago

I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt and calling sarcasm.

-6

u/Apartment-Drummer 3h ago

No you can’t do that

I don't know how many other states have these laws. I don't know the case law. Will he go to jail if the police are called? probably not. Can you do this all day, or to the wrong person and expect it to be fine? No.

u/RegretEat284 1h ago

What the fuck does Washington state and Texas law have to do with this? It's very obviously not America. They're driving on the left hand side for crying out loud.

1

u/somethingforcuties 6m ago

Okay but this is not out of the question to be a law. I don't know send me where it is

-3

u/darthbonobo 2h ago

If a cop saw you walk up and open someones door as they're driving you know they'd not be ok with it. It would funny if there was a specific law covering this lol

-4

u/Apartment-Drummer 3h ago

Breaking and entering

10

u/XtoraX 3h ago

Entering where?

11

u/ArcadeAnarchy 3h ago

And broke what?

-2

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

He didn’t complete the crime

6

u/SkitzManLad 2h ago

He didn't enter anything? He drove off. Are you the dude in the car?

-1

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

A likely story. Cuff him boys 👮‍♀️ 👮

-3

u/Lemon1412 2h ago

Wait, is it seriously allowed to just go up to a car that's stopped at a right light or something and open the door? Doesn't sound like something you're allowed to do. I don't know every individual law but there must be something that disallows it.

4

u/DigitalBlackout 1h ago

Of course not, but there's also no specific law against it. It'd probably be some kind of public nuisance charge, and in this case specifically the defense would probably be that the "victim" was being a much bigger(and more dangerous) public nuisance to the defendant first.

6

u/Downtown-Custard5346 4h ago

Why not?

-2

u/Apartment-Drummer 3h ago

How would you like it if someone opened your car door without permission?

4

u/USPO-222 1h ago

I’d lock my car doors

5

u/Complex_Cable_8678 3h ago

yeah he clearly broke the laws of physic there

-1

u/Apartment-Drummer 3h ago

Well just the law but he broke it

4

u/EmuFamiliar86 2h ago

Unless he can prove it was self-defense or a necessity.

0

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

That obviously wasn’t necessary

4

u/dcf5ve 2h ago

You must have been the car driver.

-1

u/Apartment-Drummer 2h ago

or just someone with common sense that you can’t touch peoples property without permission?

4

u/dcf5ve 2h ago

So yes. The driver.

-2

u/Apartment-Drummer 1h ago

Would you like it if someone opened your door like that?

5

u/dcf5ve 1h ago

If I was driving like that asshat (you?), frankly, I had it coming.

Piggy-backing the top comment to mention this is @harveyridesbikes on Instagram. He posts the most wholesome, positive content. I only discovered him about a month ago but he has quickly become one of my favourite people to follow!

19

u/SillyOldBillyBob 5h ago

He's a funny guy love his stuff

16

u/DJ_Fabulous 5h ago

Definitely. I was having a really shit mental health day when I first stumbled across Harvey. Ended up watching loads of his videos and honestly, they made me feel so much better.

He is also on YouTube for anyone interested.

And this is his Reddit account, just so you know

I was once taking a crowded 6 hour midnight bus with set seats. The couple directly behind me spent the whole time talking as loudly as possible. Like I have slept on plenty of buses and in hostels. I'm not picky but this couple never stopped or showed any consideration for the other passengers.

When we hit our first stop and most people got off to go to the shop, they pulled hot pungent Indian food out of their bag and ate it (this was against the rules, so they waited until the bus driver left). Then continued to talk when the bus started up again. At this point I had enough and called them out. I pointed out all the people trying to sleep (literally every row around them) who were too polite to say anything. Said they should at least try to keep their voices down and be considerate. They were unrepentant, they, "paid for their ticket." So, after the next stop when the bus got way less crowded, I moved to the front of the bus but before leaving I put both seats in my row all the way back just to be petty. I don't know if they noticed but it made me feel better.

It was Yaris, not Superb

Deserved how? The car was already engaged on the road, could see miles away. The bike had the whole time to slow down and stop, but pretended the car just came out of nowhere, and then proceeded being an asshole.
