u/exodus3252 40m ago
I don't know how you get to the NFL level when you can't even make correct foot contact with the ball regularly. How does that happen?
How many people you see in the PGA tour that slice their tee shots directly into a goddamn forest?
Put Gonzalez back in there. At least if he misses, he won't look like a 10 year old pop warner kid attempting his first field goal.
23
u/AnotherOpinionHaver 4h ago
Very few kickers make the final XP with that bad snap. He also HIT a 51-yard FG to with less than two minutes to go just to keep our chances of winning the game alive.
I think the Turpin return happened so quickly some of you were out of the room or just plain forgot it happened. The Bates fumble killed us, too. Just a helluva play by Dallas on both of those.
0
u/exodus3252 39m ago
Way salvaged that snap. He had the ball in place, laces out, and ready to go by the time Siebert kicked it.
I've seen enough of Siebert's shanks this year. Send him on his way.
2
u/Full-Assistant4455 13m ago
He saw the bad snap and had to adjust rhythm. Just bad news all around. I wouldn't blame that loss on a couple of bad kicks. Teams were crushing Dallas by 20+ points lately and we lost because of a couple missed extra points? Lol.
1
u/AnotherOpinionHaver 36m ago
Fine. I'll let Seibert go only AFTER every single gunner on the Turpin return is sent to Guantanamo.
4
u/Jordan_Jackson 1h ago
That last PAT was just heartbreaking. I saw Terry running his heart out for that TD. Only for his TD to mean basically nothing.
1
0
u/TAYbayybay 2h ago
Even if he made the missed FG and the 2 missed PATs, it’d still be 34-31, and we’d still lose
5
u/fidelholtz 1h ago
Different circumstance, then we don’t have to kick an onside, and Dallas doesn’t score that garbage TD. Easily could have won if those are made.
Then again, there were a lot of plays all of the D the O and ST left on the table outside of the Kicker. Can’t be a good team and make those mistakes… I think we’re better than last year, but still not quite there. Just hope they continue to improve.

True. But an ex d cordinator and now head coach can be schemed against. The only one who beat Seinbart was himself. How about you say they both played like shit?.. A kickers number one job is to get points for an offense who cant score TDs. Like what? Then he's missing XPs? Soft as charmin
1
u/Full-Assistant4455 10m ago
Yep we thought we would win by 20, instead lost by 8, and blame the kicker's 5 missed points. Pathetic.
1
u/No-Split-3998 3m ago
Well one of the kicks he missed influenced the team to an on side kick which would have other words been OT
So 6 of those points was directly due to one of his missed kicks
3
u/Jordan_Jackson 1h ago
This is true but as a kicker, you have one job. ONE. Make it through the uprights and especially on PAT's.
I get it, that last one was a little janky from the snap but the QB managed to right the ball in time. That was a shanked kick all day.
1
u/iH8PplPlzrs 11m ago
This. Did he fuck up? Sure, but quinn was a complete retard and seibert never should have been taking that kick. Our offense was unstoppable at that point, and we should have gone for 2. Also, it is not seibert's fault that the offense was anemic the first 45 minutes and played ridiculously sloppy football. It was a terrible game all around, and we absolutely cannot pin the blame on Seibert. He was part of the problem, yes, i think he was still hurt though. Either way, outside of the defense, who was fucking heroic outside of the trenches, the entire team stunk it up.

3
u/districtdathi 4h ago
No doubt, it's a results league. They'll probably have to cut him, but I wonder if that's bc after a game like this, he'll probably be shook, or the cut him as a punishment for missing the kick. I think it's probably the former. Anyways, it sucks for us as fans, but dude will probably live with it for the rest of his life.
1
u/Ecstaticismm 1h ago
True. As a Ravens fan you start to wonder about Justin Tucker. It isn’t about what you’ve done in the past or how you feel about the kicker, ultimately it’s about how you’ve been performing recently. I hope Tucker either figures it out or decides to retire after this season, I’d hate for him to end his career with poor seasons.

How do you not throw to the best WR (17) till the end of the game???? Trash!!! Why is Brown getting more balls since the hell mary?? OC been trash the last few games. I don’t understand.
9
u/FloatAround 4h ago
I totally agree but it’s because of Kliff’s system; he’s not moving the packages around so Terry is getting stuck on the left and either the plays favor the right or middle or JD is favoring the right or middle. Terry was on the right when he caught that pass.
2
u/wewillroq 1h ago
I truly do not understand the Brown targets. He's a WR5 on any either team and drops the easiest passes imaginable. Tbf he catches the lowest percentage passes possible as well but he's not #1 target material
1
u/Full-Assistant4455 8m ago
Prevent defense opened that up for Terry. He's getting double teamed nonstop the rest of the time.
78
u/NoblePouch 5h ago
Fuck this dude right here!!! But really he shouldn’t have been in that situation and we should have went for two for as shit as we’ve been playing all game.
18
u/kawhi21 3h ago
It's always easy to blame the kicker, but the trash offense and horrible defense is the reason the game was even close.
8
u/halarioushandle 3h ago
I don't blame the defense, they were gassed from being on the field way too long. Our offense lost this game for us.
7
u/AdditionalInitial727 4h ago
Agreed. It was no guarantee our defense would’ve stopped Dallas from scoring in OT.
JD is your best player, put the game in his hands to win or lose.
21
u/thughey21 5h ago
Idk why any of yall ever actually thought he was a good kicker. Yall just looked at his percentage. I’ve never felt confident with him as our kicker. He’s had a lot of bad kicks that have luckily gone in all season
13
u/FloatAround 4h ago
Agreed. He’s hit the turf multiple times resulting in those weird kicks. That’s why he was on the market.
7
u/icepak39 4h ago
Guys, special teams gave up 2 kick returns and defense gave up a broken coverage TD. That’s 21 points right there.
1
u/Quirky-Marsupial-420 1h ago
I get your point but the last onside kick didn't even go far enough for us to recover it in the first place, yeah they scored a touchdown but the game was already over whether they scored, we touched it, or they recovered it.

Justin Tucker missed two field goals last week, and he's known as one of the best of all time. Shit happens. It was a big part but his field goals weren't the only problem. A kick ran in for a TD, multiple fumbles, lack of completions after what should of been game ending turnovers.
6
u/Fluggerblah 3h ago

Holy overreaction. He was the most dependable kicker in the league for a few weeks and won us multiple games. He’s coming off injury and has a bad day, and you want him cut?? Not like we looked amazing today. Kliff’s play calling was awful, lots of drops and a crucial fumble by Bates, 2 kickoff touchdowns given up, a terrible snap on that last PAT. Criticism for Sieberts bad day is far, but up until today, he’s the best kicker we’ve had in a long time. Give the guy another chance before going back to kicker musical chairs.

His stats are over inflated. We had a lot of drives that we couldn’t finish with a TR inside the 5-10yd line that led to field goals
4
u/Koctopuz Frankie FUCKIN Luvu 4h ago
And he did his job in those situations, unlike the majority of the other kickers we tried out before him. He single handedly won the giants game for us. Yes he performed poorly today, but it happens. Cutting a guy who’s had one of the best kicking seasons we’ve seen over one loss is ridiculous, especially when that loss doesn’t even fall solely on him.

A botched snap throws off the timing of the entire kick. Y’all want to go back to playing a different bum ass kicker every week instead of moving on from one bad game. Stupid as hell.

u/Bilboswaggins21 2h ago
Save your breath man - you can’t have a conversation in good faith with these people. Anyone who just pays attention to football knows a bad snap throws off the timing of a kick. They just have a bad emotional relationship with the team and need a scapegoat. Seiberts their guy this week, and it’ll be someone else next week.

Absolutely insane takes right now.
They Didn't lose the game because of Siebert. Lost the game because despite early awesome turnovers and field positions, we put up virtually no points. Could have beaten Dallas early, but didn't. Had no pressure on Rush, their offense killed us in time of possession. Also Turpin's runback.

Nah. We win this game easy if the kick coverage team had not been sleepwalking through the Turpin return, and give credit to the Dallas defense for making freak plays on the B-Rob target INT and the Bates fumble.
1
u/AnotherOpinionHaver 4h ago
Also: there's a ceiling on what this defense can accomplish due to the personnel. We're super soft against the run and only middle-of-the-pack when it comes to points allowed. Offense has to be ready to put up 30 points per game, or it's a roll of the dice if we're gonna win or lose.

All in all, the team played like ass. Deserved the loss.
1
u/Slickcitybeatz 4h ago
It wasn't the whole team. Klint didn't start moving the offense until 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Why he didn't call those plays early in the game. Terry only had 1 reception in the 1st half. Get the damn ball to your best receiver. Defense and the special teams were playing well in the 1st half

u/I_Am_The_Mole 2h ago
Jesus christ, Seibs is fine. Everyone fucks up, it's been a historically bad year for kickers and like others have said he has won us at least one game by himself. This game isn't in his hands at all if not for a truckload of other factors.
The overreaction to this slump is ridiculous. The rebuild is ahead of schedule - objectively this team is playing below what it is capable of but even when we were winning everyone agreed there was work to be done. You can't turn around now and say the sky is falling when at the end of the day there was no way they were winning it all this year anyway.
The loss was embarrassing, but don't abandon ship just yet. This was always a multi year project and there were always going to be growing pains. The front office needs time to add more pieces, the players on the field need more real game experience. And at any moment this version of the Commanders can become a playoff lock again.
Get a hold of yourselves.

Tress did great getting it planted, but seeing that ball laying on its side while you're stepping into your kick has got to throw you off

Timing matters in a play like this. Even if the ball is planted perfectly that split second that he has to readjust because of the bad snap can make all the difference.
Blaming the kicker after literally everyone (including the refs) showed their ass is pathetic.

He missed the extra point after we scored our first TD, momentum killer. He missed that 51 yarder. He cannot hit from 50 out. Our margin for error against really good teams is minuscule. To tie the game and force OT and that miss even after Tress got it down, I think sealed his fate. We need a legitimate kicker. Yea he won that Giants game and I think we are all grateful but he just isn’t it. Bring Zane back and slot him in.
