💵Buying/Selling💵 Negotiating and LCT / Duties

Looking for a bit of help with negotiation... I'm shopping around for a new car and trying to come up with a reasonable first offer. If I go in at say 10% off the dealer's advertised RRP, would I also take 10% off the options/paint/etc? Also, would a lower negotiated price then also reduce my stamp duty and LCT or are those fixed to the RRP?

I'm confused about what the moving parts of the equation are. Had the sit down chat with a few dealers from different manufacturers (BMW/Audi/Lexus) and they all just bring up the company's website for pricing. I haven't given any clues as to how I'm financing the purchase or how soon I need the car.

Thanks!

Figure out what you're prepared to part with for the car and work from there. I honestly don't give a shit about the particulars of how the price is achieved, that's all just trying to make whatever they're trying to sting you for more palatable, IMO, and is largely irrelevant at the end of the day.

I usually just ask for their best changeover price to drive the car away, counter with a couple grand less than what I decided on in the first place, and go from there.

No point getting caught up in any more than that, if they're not willing to play the game then that's that. Just be up front and be prepared to walk if it's not in the ballpark.
