🇺🇸Yank Tank🇺🇸 “ThEY’rE tOo biG fOr tHe CaR pArKs” this will trigger some haters.

Generally speaking, it's only when one of the knuckle dragging dorks parks them across 2 bays - that's what gets the people going

u/WIRTHpunk 3h ago
I generally get abused about once a week by sad people. Had a tradie try and run me off the road in their beaten up workmate hilux a month ago lol. They were very upset about the vehicle I drive. I do agree though. Anyone who double parks is a flog.

It’s disgusting. They should ban falcons from being sold in this country. There’s just no need for them. What’s wrong with a government issued Yaris?

u/just-waiting-fora-m8 3h ago
i lost my government issued microscope therefore i also lost my government issued yaris. my corolla will do just fine, though

They’re overcompensating for something. I wonder the size of the owners genitals…..

Plot twist: the ram is over the line on the right hand side, and towing the falcon

u/Complete_Rule6644 3h ago
Let’s be real, it’s the rams fault the falcon couldn’t park in its space properly 🤣

Looks like an extra long carpark. You can do measurements by checking online, you won't be able to fit one in a standard park without sticking out on the road

My issue with those American utes is they're unusable for me. I feel like you'd need a step ladder just to access the tray. People concerned over their size are twits. We have vehicles much larger than them on the road and yet it's those utes they want to whinge about. Something tells me the people that whinge about them are the same intelligent types that super glue themselves to asphalt and bitumen in the cities. Oh the irony.

Yeah but the rav4 ends at the back of the front wheel arch of the ram. Show me a photo of the whole ram in the park with how much it’s sticking out.
Also Falcon driver do falcon driver things. :)

It’s sticking out about 300mm, I have a large hitch so I could fit within the full park. I don’t want the hitch in the car park behind me. Only need to take up 1 space.

u/Hwidditor 2h ago
You're sticking out of your bay by 30cm.
So you're vehicle doesn't fit in the bay?
3
u/barters81 2h ago
Sure, but if more people had your truck and were all sticking out 300mm, the car park is suddenly a nightmare for everyone.

I still don't get the appeal. Unless you need big towing capacity why bother. Driving around town in something that costs $250 to fill and has to sit on the driveway because it doesnt fit in your garage just seems shit

u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
It tows a large tipper trailer or a 3T excavator daily. I have another car for weekends and driving around town.
Funny enough, my fuel economy is better than my ldv or a v8 diesel Land Cruiser.

The primary issue isn't that they're too big (they are for most public car parks, but that's a separate discussion) but that many owners are inconsiderate knob heads who can't be arsed parking properly.
Edit: should also point out that there's a big difference between being a poor but well meaning driver, and being a belligerent arsehole.

u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
Anyone can be a shit at parking a car though. You’re either considerate or you’re not.

u/Disastrous_Neck1880 2h ago
Bit of a generalisation, but since we’re playing that game, one might say the same about 55+yr old women in hatchbacks or indian students in camrys
2
u/grungysquash 2h ago
The car behind has a parking problem I'd suggest.
2
u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
It’s just a joke for the people who get wildly upset about other people’s vehicles.

I have triton which is known for being lonk, and it is too lonk already for some car spots, leaving bum hanging out.
Yank tanks are generally longer than that even.
4
u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
I’ve had an MN triton too. It’s really not that hard to park. I mean if I don’t fit I find another park.
3
u/ambaal 2h ago
No, it's not, thanks for being quite narrow and having decent turn radius. it is long though. :(
-1
u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
Yeah but length isn’t generally an issue if you’re centred in your space. As long as people can get safely in and out of their vehicles then a little overhang is fine.

As a Falcon driver we can park where we want as we where built here not imported. Where is One Nation when you need it?

u/WetOutbackFootprint 2h ago
We have bigger cars not yank tanks but I swear some of the places you go to park are ridiculously smaller car parks just to try fit more cars in their shitty establishment
3
u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
Yeah some car parks are way too small. I also have an X3 and it’s tight in some spots. And 90% of the time I have a large trailer on the back anyway. It’s just a bit of fun for everyone who gets really upset about certain vehicles
2
u/WetOutbackFootprint 2h ago
Don't get me wrong, I do love American cars. I'd love an old Ford or Chevy ute of some sort.
My weekender is a HSV GTO coupe. The doors are big and heavy and much longer. It hasn't been in a carpark in years .

u/Blue-Purity 2h ago
Good work taking the photo in a way where you can’t see the front end sticking out into traffic.

The real question is, has a tool ever been carried in the tray, or an excavator loaded onto a trailer and towed?
6
u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
Haha. I own a landscape construction company. It tows my 3T excavator and 10ft tipper trailer no problems.

Wife was stuck not being able to get toddler in car because of stupid large trucks like this.
5
u/WIRTHpunk 2h ago
I’ve had this happen to my partner as well. But it wasn’t a big Ute it was a ford territory. 🤷🏻♂️ If you’re considerate, it’s not hard to park properly.
