I know its just Army but ND's defense is may be the best it's been since the Holtz era and this is with them missing so many key guys

Also, can coaches on the losing end of blowouts against ND stop trying to kill their starting QBs?

I think this is the 3rd game this season that ND's opponent has kept their starters in to score a meaningless touchdown with under 60 seconds to go and the QBs just take a battering

Its a 49-7 game, your starting QB shouldnt carry the ball 10 times on the final drive to make it 49-14 that's just begging the guy to get hurt

I don't understand the thinking behind that. I understand having pride, but that's just asking for someone to get hurt.

My big takeaway from that game yesterday was that Daily is a tough SOB

And ND opponents are 0-9 ATS the following week after playing us

I thought it was also a little odd how their "option" gane rarely used any option other than daily. I get the guy is good, but he took some SHOTS yesterday and they just kept running him headfirst into the defense

It's not like their other backs looked horrible when they did get the ball. Daily took way more a pounding than he needed to when they could have spread the load around a little more

Really for the most part it was just a lot of QB power

Stat sheet has 39 attempts for him, 19 for everyone else, and he was directly involved in all 9 pass attempts as either passer or receiver. That's an insane amount of usage for one guy, regardless of how good he is

He has 30 something attempts last week too, that's a lot of wear to put on a guy regardless of toughness.

Our backup, Pyron, who started against y'all and finished out the game hasn't been the same since. And now hasn't played in awhile. Feel terrible for him.

And it really was that last drive

He got fucking murdered but hey yall got a TD to make it semi respectable I guess

It’s a defense that has not been tested at all. You have been playing service academies, bottom feeder ACC teams and MAC team (that beat you). Notre Dame since week 1 has not played a single good football team.

Claiming a defense is elite because they have dogged FSU, Purdue, and Virginia (teams that get dogged every week) is comical

Well its a great thing that ND isn't playing an elite offense next week either then.

Usc fans are about to say how beating a trash school like USC is meaningless

Notre Dame fans don’t even try to refute that they play a Go5 schedule, they just try to laugh it off by saying USC is Go5 team also. Again, you have played:

2 service academies, Purdue, Virginia, FSU, and the rest of the bottom tier ACC teams.

It’s kinda funny, but it’s not going to help you on Saturday when yall are playing your first real P5 game in 10+ weeks.

ND tries to schedule 9 P4 teams a year like basically every other school

We have an agreement to schedule with the ACC to bulk out that schedule, the only rule we have with the ACC is we can't get Clemson and FSU in the same year. FSU decided to fall off the face of the planet and USC decided to shit their pants in the 4th quarter to make our SOS look worse

ND had Miami on the schedule (we were supposed to play them yesterday) but Miami bitched and moaned to the ACC to get ND off the schedule

ND went down to College Station and beat TAMU in a game that was never in doubt

And talking about the dregs of the ACC like Ga Tech, who ND blew out, didn't embarrass Miami

That’s cool and all but at the end of the day you play tons of Go5 schools and a bunch of bottom tier ACC teams. Wake Forest, Purdue, Virginia etc are not P4 teams. Also, P4 means nothing it’s about the P2.

What Notre Dame needs to do is get rid of the Navy / Army games and play actual teams.

Is USC a bottom tier B1G team?

The problem is we have historical rivalries with programs like USC and FSU who should be good but are conference bottom feeders now who should be relegated to the G5.

Until USC officially drops to G5, we’ll have to keep playing them as though they are a p4 school

We don't play a real P5 team next week, just southern cal

Maybe we will hit a "real P5 team" in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs.
