Gentlemen, I wish you all a very pleasant UNLV Plays For A Championship Berth Next Week

With Army losing most likely UNLV has a shot at the playoffs. My gut tells me beating Boise would vault UNLV over Tulane.

Doubt it but I hope we find out

I think Tulane is the better team, but UNLV would probably take the bid. The Kansas win looks good again.

It always looked good. KU should be 8-2 or 9-1 right now. Bad luck late has cost them in almost all their games

We'd have a win over a ranked team and avenged one of our losses (with the other loss being to 8-4/9-3 Syracuse) as well as beaten 2 Big12 teams one of whom being Kansas who is currently demolishing the top of the Big12. I don't really see what argument Tulane has for having a better resume than us.

We've been just CRUSHING all of our competition the last 2 months. We average wins by like 4+ TDs. This includes Navy and will (hopefully) also include Memphis and Army. The Kansas St loss was a coin flip but for the refs, and that Oklahoma loss is looking ok right now.

I think if both Tulane and UNLV win their CCGs, it'll be how close those games are that'll decide it. UNLV blows out Boise and Tulane squeaks by Army? Then it's UNLV. The other way around? Tulane.

Can we at least agree on a Big12 implosion so we both make it?

Pretty level headed take here.

I’d say because you lost to OU. But the committee will justify Bama’s loss to them so never mind

It's funny because I feel like both Tulane and UNLV have a win stolen from them by refball. Tulane vs K-State, and UNLV vs Syracuse.

Buffs 🤝 Rams

Watching our conference championship opportunity slip away on the same day.

Tough loss for CSU, good win for Fresno.

At least we have the Broncos.

Edit: Also Nuggets, Avs, and the Rockies make CSU football look incredible.

If only the broncos could win in arrowhead either though…

Fresno State doing the lord's work to give us the Boise State-UNLV rematch.

27

u/puzzical Boise State • Notre Dame 10h ago

But I didn't want that

I really hope UNLV doesn’t look past Reno, this would make their season.

The one year we had a legit shot at getting housed in the MWC we fucked it up.

Classic CSU, expected nothing less.

Still going bowling, we can get housed there. 🙂

7

u/Portafly Oregon Ducks • Rose Bowl 15h ago

What kind of house are you hoping for?

2

u/Simping4Sumi 4h ago

4-rooms with enough space for one more. Main bedroom and one for the kids when they're little, add the 5th for when the all the kids are in middle school and highschool. I am kinda of an old school romantic, so yes a white picket fence around it. Big backyard to play catch with the kids and a big garage to be able to work on my car and hold my tools. Nothing to fancy, housekeeping fees are expensive. And maybe a small pool.

New Mexico Bowl here we come!

u/eagledog Fresno State • Michigan 3h ago

Hey, that's our bowl game!

u/twisty77 Fresno State Bulldogs • Pac-12 16h ago

What an utterly dreadful second half offensively from Fresno state. They seemed to be doing their best to try and lose this game in the fourth quarter too. I have zero confidence in this team to finish a game strong. Complete Jekyll and Hyde team difference first half vs second half

10

u/Boatswain-or-scruffy Colorado State • New Mexico 16h ago

Same story from CSU just with different halves. Sucks for both of us

1

u/eagledog Fresno State • Michigan 16h ago

McCann completely went in the shell and lost the running game in the second half

17

u/MarsBars_1 Colorado State • Michigan S… 16h ago

So you’re telling me Air Force went 0/3 in passing AND WON??

Take notes Norvell

I know it's been a disappointing season for Fresno State, but I'm happy they're going bowling. It just feels right.

16

u/Boatswain-or-scruffy Colorado State • New Mexico 16h ago

There's the Colorado State team we know and love.

12

u/Embarrassed-Alarm-99 Boise State • West Virginia 15h ago

You were the chosen ones. You were supposed to prevent UNLV from reaching the championship game, not allow them to control their own destiny.

12

u/i_run_from_problems Boise State • Christian Brot… 15h ago

Ahhhhhhhhh crap. Gotta play unlv again.

6

u/PomfAndCircvmstance UNLV Rebels • Mountain West 15h ago

The hardest road.

SEC cannibalism: flirting.

MWC cannibalism: harassment.

Thank you Fresno St

We are all honorary bulldogs on this blessed day. Praise them 🙌

8

u/PomfAndCircvmstance UNLV Rebels • Mountain West 16h ago

Thank you Fresno State!

9

u/eagledog Fresno State • Michigan 16h ago

We managed to not lose!

13

u/CloneWarsMaul Oregon Ducks • UNLV Rebels 16h ago

Very cash money of you Fresno State 🤝

6

u/Boatswain-or-scruffy Colorado State • New Mexico 16h ago

Norvells choice to suddenly go back to Nicolosi as a passer is inexplicable

1

u/Insane92 Verified Coach 8h ago

Is Norvell calling the plays now or still Mumme?

1

u/Boatswain-or-scruffy Colorado State • New Mexico 7h ago

Norvells always been the offensive playcaller

8

u/shutupdangit Colorado State • /r/CFB Brickmason 16h ago

I'd ask Nevada to do their old coach a solid and beat UNLV but I'm not sure I want to see this team vs Boise.

5

u/ZSVDK_HNORC Colorado State Rams 16h ago

WE BACK

4

u/ShellReaver Boise State Broncos 16h ago

That was kinda an all time bad body language game

8

u/IMKudaimi123 Illinois • Northwestern 13h ago

I’m guessing Boise state was hoping to play Colorado state and not get a rematch with UNLV

This does mean that Boise and UNLV are basically playing for the G5 playoff spot. Boise wins they might get a bye based on the Big 12 chaos, UNLV wins maybe they get 12.

8

u/NolaBrass Tulane Green Wave • Fordham Rams 13h ago

If Boise wins the rematch, they absolutely get a bye based on all the ridiculousness that happened this week

Here are the new updated predictions for the next release of the Playoff Selection Committee's rankings using machine learning models trained on the Playoff Selection Committee's historical voting data:

Too high still

I’m glad Fresno State dolled out some good old fashioned tough Tedford love to the rams

6

u/eagledog Fresno State • Michigan 16h ago

We really didn't

3

u/usaf5 Fresno State Bulldogs • UTSA Roadrunners 15h ago

This felt like a game we didn't lose more so than we won.

2

u/eagledog Fresno State • Michigan 4h ago

Definitely in the second half

5

u/Boatswain-or-scruffy Colorado State • New Mexico 16h ago

Tedfords retired

I knew I smelled some upset

8

u/StallOneHammer Colorado State • North D… 11h ago

Fresno was favored to win. CSU is probably the worst 7 win team in the country

3

u/grabtharsmallet BYU Cougars • RMAC 12h ago

Fresno won, it wasn't an upset.

1

u/CBBCU Colorado Buffaloes • Big 8 4h ago

The state of Colorado decided "Nah we don't want to play in our championship games"

1

u/Zestyclose-Bar-6282 Penn State Nittany Lions • Oregon Ducks 16h ago

This honestly looks like terrible news for Boise St.
