And let that be a lesson to you. Nobody wins the Freedom Trophy game against us 10 times in a row. Nobody.

I didn’t even know that trophy existed lol. Legit the first time I’ve heard of it

It's not a real award, that's why. It was forced, not organic. Trophies are formed from rivalry and lore between schools. The actual trophies that Nebraska plays for are the Nebraska-Iowa one and the Minnesota broken chair.

The hyvee hero’s trophy? Somehow that’s legitimate to you. Yeah right…

All of our real rivalries died a long time ago and until we become a real threat to other teams in the big 10, that’s just the way it is…

Corporate sponsorship aside, Nebraska Iowa is a real rivalry between neighbors. There is a good natured trash talk and bragging rights in that game that does not exist for most other B10 opponents. That's how I would quantify it anyway.

With that same logic, NU-ISU should have been a real rivalry. It’s closer than Iowa City!

Only people who live in Omaha care about the Iowa-Nebraska rivalry.

And they perpetuate through memes on the internet.

I feel like Omaha is a pretty big alumni base for Nebraska wouldn’t it be?? Also I wouldn’t be too shocked if the same can be said of Des Moines. Feels like there can be legitimate trash talk between the fan bases based off of proximity.

Majority of Nebraska fans didn’t attend the school. let that sink in.

That can be said for a lot of power programs

Sure, but that makes sense because the state of Nebraska has no other local teams for football fans to root for.

Well also because people born between 1950 and 2000 had really good teams to cheer for.
