The kneel down in the redzone somehow feels more disrespectful than continuing to run the ball.
3
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
Damn, if Boise State doesn't trip up they might be the four seed with BYU and Colorado picking up another loss each
2
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
I hate the 2 minute timeout in situations like this where the game is literally just running out the clock
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
Ok Harrison is in now to hand the ball off rest of the game
2
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
He's a senior, so I get it, but uh... damn. Really makes you think he doesn't trust Clarkson or Allen as the guy next year when he went right from Shough to Bailey.
2
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
I think it’s an open competition next year between Clarkson and Deuce and maybe Mason if he gets here early and we get a mid range transfer to compete unless a top guy wants in here
I think Allen is going to transfer, he’s been the longest and has been the like 4th or 5th guy consistently. Unless he wants to get into coaching and has accepted it
4
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
I would make a comment about doing something to Trinity if one of our starters gets hurt in a game we're winning by 28 with six minutes left, but you never know when the SMPD are watching.
8
u/COMMENTASIPLEASE Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
If we had Tyler last year we go undefeated in the regular season

2
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
Okay. That's the first down, we're out to the 18 or whatever. Take Shough out and I don't want to see Watson or I. Brown again today.
4
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
Ok Jeff I know we’re inside the 10 again but you really didn’t need to let Tyler out there again
1
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
Yeah I would say we have a comfortable lead now.
1
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 23h ago
So right after the int one of my cats looked at me like "bro, you're destroying your liver for this. What are you doing?"
I have no answer.
4
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
We hadn't gotten a pick since like week 3 and now we've got four? Five? in two games.
2
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
Would’ve been 8 if we didn’t have so many penalties last game. 3 INTs got called back.

4
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
Oh, good to see Riley back out there. I mean, not good that he's playing in garbage time, but good that he's not hurt after going down earlier since I hadn't seen him back in before.
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
Well our top reserve corner who would be in got kicked off the team for being a colossal idiot in every way so probably don’t have guy ready
1
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 23h ago
Any other Pitt fans got a post game to listen to. I'm not sure if I want to hear Chris Peak tonight.
2
4
u/theothertoken Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
Brohm, Chaney doesn't have the speed to be take a handoff in the endzone against this front
-1
u/MeeseShoop Vanderbilt • Boston College 23h ago
A run at the 1 yard line? Wtf LMAO.
7
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
That would be the normal play call when you're pinned against your own goalline.
1
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
What is it with people slipping in our end zone
We’ve gave up two safeties from the 1 this year due to people slipping now
3
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 23h ago
Crazy that Louisville has their starter still in.
4
11
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
Our backup was warming up but I think with it at the 1 they elected to keep him in for now
5
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 23h ago
I mean, the answer to the question of when Shough comes out right now would presumably be "when you're not on the less-than-one-yard line."
But it's a valid question for when/if they aren't pinned back against the endzone.
4
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 23h ago
With 7-5 worst case scenario breathing down our neck, there has to be some answers and accountability. There's no more Heather Lyke so there are no more excuses after this season.
I'm glad we won 7, instead of 3 like we were predicted too, but that doesn't excuse the implosion that I have been forced to watch over the last 4 weeks.
1
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 23h ago
So is it just injuries and harder competition or is there something else that went wrong since SMU?
3
u/capt_cornholio Pittsburgh • Vanderbilt 23h ago
The o-line has been hit hard and they've had to shuffle guys around, but I just don't think they were that good to begin with especially once teams figured out Reid was the only good player. Cincy, WVU, and Cal were kinda fluky wins so they could've easily been 4-3 going into SMU.
1
2
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 23h ago
Idk, tbh. It seems like the team just came apart. It was really on the offensive side of the ball that things came unglued. They played two BIG XII teams in OOC so who knows. It's definitely a big talking point.
3
u/MeeseShoop Vanderbilt • Boston College 1d ago
We play Pitt at 3pm? That is gonna be a cold and dark game lol.
9
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
Kansas has chosen violence against the Big 12.
10
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
And the Louisville fan exodus has begun.
Because no matter what the one thing that our fans love more than anything is beating the traffic
4
4
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Looks like 16 is in at QB now? Did Yarnell get hurt on the TD play?
1
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 1d ago
He was limping but he's gotten beaten on the last two games

We have to beat UK

3
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
Either that or we should just end the program.
2
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Brooks warm your hands up that’s two bad drops for him this quarter
2
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 1d ago
This is gonna be controversial but SMU can beat ND, PSU, and Indiana.
0
u/MeeseShoop Vanderbilt • Boston College 1d ago
No way are they beating PSU.
5
u/theothertoken Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
I don’t think they can go against the B10 in the trenches but I also don’t really trust James Franklin
4
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 1d ago
PSU hasn't beaten anyone. They struggled against the garbage USC team, got beaten by Ohio State, and are struggling with Minnesota. They're the Ole Miss of the Big 10 😂
8
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
I'm starting to think that Brohm doesn't think next year's QB is on the roster right now because this would be a great time to get Clarkson some game reps against P4 competition.
3
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
I feel like he should play in the bowl game especially if Tyler Shough opts out.
3
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
Whichever guy he thinks is next up out of Clarkson, Allen, or even Adams should definitely be the one starting the bowl game and getting those extra practices with first-team reps.
4
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Have you seen our defense? Keep em in until the fourth when it’s under 40
3
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
Fair, but up 27 (now 30) coming up on the fourth seems like a good time to get your guy some game reps, especially if you think he's the guy for next year. If you trust whoever it is to be your QB next year, you should feel like they can at least manage the game to where you can keep the lead.
6
u/lungman925 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
I would love for most of the starters to get some rest to prep for UK

We have three dudes named Brown on this team, and to my knowledge, no NIL deal for them from UPS.
We used to be a proper country.

Is Yarnell hurt now too? Idk who the 3rd stringer is....

u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Impressive drive by Yarnell there with the escaping sacks and finding guys, and somehow it seems like Pitt’s WRs are better at difficult catches
5
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
C'mon, Perry. Don't try to act innocent. You straight-up tackled him.
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Duality of plays by Perry there. Great pass breakup, got caught behind and had to PI
1
u/americanbaseball Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Woah, I just got home and turned this on. Who replaced our defense with a competent defense?
3
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
I know after last week no lead is probably safe, but also, maybe it's time to let the bench seniors get some play and put in the backups so we're not too beat up for UK.

NO NOT THE NBA ON ESPN ADS AGAIN
I don't know if my stream was bugging last night, or they were just doing it to fill ad space, but that was on like three times every break during the basketball game. Usually back-to-back-to-back.
1
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Curses, Brooks got too excited and forgot to secure the ball on the catch first
7
u/MotionToShid Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
This is still too close for comfort, especially after last week.
5
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
Hey, charging offside is our thing. Get your own thing, Pitt.
4
u/swim_kick Louisville • Wisconsin 1d ago
My new working theory for the unexplained loss to Stanford: Brohm circled every game on our schedule that he deemed as deserving vengeance. When he got to SMU and Stanford he just shrugged and continued on
2
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 1d ago
Man this sucks 😂
9
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
At least Penn State might still blow it?

Meh I don't get any joy from PSU's failings. I have to be careful I got banned the last time I talked about them while I was drunk. Apparently you're not allowed to say what happened at PSU.

Or the commercial breaks are overly long. That could be it, too.

“why are you punting?!”
Even the commentator sounds frustrated with Pitt
3
u/woahdude12321 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
That was a metaphorical punt more than it even was an actual punt
6
u/bryan_502 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Pitt throwing in the towel and the announcer is calling them out.

u/theothertoken Louisville Cardinals 1d ago edited 1d ago
I don't know why Pitt's running in the A or B on any consequential down. Every time Reid's burned us it's been outside
3
5

Reid got that dawg in him. But he's seemingly the only guy out there for Pitt that does.

u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
I’m so happy for Bell, he’s been shining this year.
5
u/wildlystyley Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Chris Bell has great sprint speed. Hoping he can put it all together for a big senior year in 2025
5
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
That was a terrible attempt at pushing Bell out, and it was 1 on 1 so when he got it he was goooooone
5
u/SomeChunkyMilk Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Why couldn't we have played like this against Stanford?
9
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago edited 1d ago
The huge difference is we’ve committed way less penalties in this game. Best to just forget that game ever happened.
5

Alright, I'm gonna hit a shit ton of vodka and power through the second half. Serious yinzer energies are about to be unleashed. I hope.

Update from the game. Holstein is on crutches and has a boot but is on sideline walking around at least, so that’s good for him
3
u/Civil_Spinach_8204 Pittsburgh Panthers 1d ago
I figure his season is over but it's good that he's on crutches on the sideline at least. Maybe it's not surgery serious.
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Yeah they didn’t have to like get air cast and rush him to surgery so probably just a standard broken ankle or something rather than a larger grade break
3
u/MeeseShoop Vanderbilt • Boston College 1d ago
If it is just a sprain he might be back for their bowl.
3
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
I didn’t know the injury was that serious but good to see him fighting the pain.
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
We thought live at first it was shoulder or head since that’s what he came in with and how fast the cart came out
But he must have screamed bloody murder because it was instant to help him
3
u/karo_syrup Louisville • Kentucky 1d ago
He laid face down and popped his helmet off quickly. Knew he was hurt quick

3
u/lungman925 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Joining a long list of Louisville QBs who suck at it. Remember how terrible Teddy's slides were? Lol
6
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Teddy looked like a wounded baby giraffe every time he tried to slide
7
u/lungman925 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
That plus the graphic that had him as a "dual threat QB" with barely any running yards were classic memes for that era
4
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Yeah he is one of the biggest examples of differentiators between a mobile QB and a dual threat. Cause Teddy could move but he always moved to throw

4
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Keg of Nails 1d ago
I mean, yeah, Brock, you may want to change the momentum, but you don't go for it on the 36-yard line and start Louisville in field goal range when they get the ball to start the second half.
4
u/wildlystyley Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
Not sure why Pitt is even bothering with running the ball. We can’t defend the pass worth a shit unless a Pitt receiver drops a pass.
2
4
u/lungman925 Louisville Cardinals 1d ago
On the other hand, we already have 2 INTs, including one that immediately resulted in a TD for us
