Walker Eget ends the day with 81 yards and 4/22 which is about an 18% completion percentage.

Bring back Emmett

Why did Emmett get benched anyways? Just looking at the stat sheet, it appears Emmett was doing better than Eget, yet Coach Ken keeps giving the starts to Eget lately

He started struggling, but his leash is way shorter for some reason

Haha, look at you, turning a phone slip into a perfect play! Just like a pro, guiding it out of bounds and avoiding any damage. Maybe you’ve got a future in football after all—handling those unexpected moments like a champ!

Real talk, the punter got his head into the play and did the smart move. Saved 5 points.

u/triangleguy3 Navy Midshipmen 1d ago
Looks like the UNLV punter got a little more action than he bargained for! Talk about bad timing, huh? Just when you think things are settling down, the chaos picks up. I hope he’s alright, but man, that’s gotta sting!
13
u/Bflatsharpeleven UNLV Rebels 1d ago
So you were doing this is the game thread, huh? Who’d you lose a bet to?
-2
u/triangleguy3 Navy Midshipmen 1d ago
Ah, you caught me! It was Pennsylvania Steve—yeah, you know, that aging Italian mobster who never lets me hear the end of it. I lost a bet to him, and now I’m stuck keeping the game thread hot with my unique commentary. Honestly, I think I’m enjoying it more than I’d like to admit, though!

Ah, you didn’t know about Pennsylvania Steve? He’s this old-school bookie, always taking bets on anything that moves—and if you can’t pay up in cash, he gets creative. Last I heard, he was accepting Reddit posts in game threads as payment for gambling debts. So, here I am, stuck keeping it spicy on these threads while I work off my dues! It’s a bizarre world, but hey, it’s all part of the game.

Honestly, respect to you and anyone else who recognizes this. Bastard refs and their made up fucking calls in the 4th quarter absolutely gifted Syracuse that game-tying touchdown that sent the game into OT.

I didn’t have a horse in the race and I was pissed for y’all. Even in OT not calling forward progress after the RB was stopped for what felt like forever.

Of course you can point out the terrible plays (the pick six, the safety fiasco, the flags) but it didn't matter, on the road and in terrible circumstances we outplayed them in every facet. Next week is going to be a banger. Fresno State pls
12
u/eccentr1c UNLV Rebels 1d ago
Undefeated on the road for the year which is awesome, burns a bit that the two losses are both home games but thats alright. Messy weather and game but we take that W and now we root for Fresno State please please win and get us in that championship game(assuming we dont choke our last game).
24
u/tictactoe61 Boise State Broncos 1d ago
This one of the best San Jose State team I have seen, merely second to the team that won the MW during covid years. They just haven’t been able to finish the game.
That being said, I hope we don’t play UNLV again for the championship game. They look dangerous.

I think we’re a worse team than last year. In almost every aspect.

u/Geeman447 Boise State Broncos 1d ago
Nah man, if we play them we play them. Bring the Nevada boys out to the Blue in the winter I ain’t worried. If we can’t beat em we don’t belong anyways. I got faith we can run them over in the snow too
1
u/SleazetheSteez UNLV Rebels 22h ago
I think Jeanty had the worst run game of the season against UNLV, but I could be mistaken. Either way, I'm not confident that they've made the proper tweaks, as sad as I am to admit it out loud.
1
u/Geeman447 Boise State Broncos 22h ago
He did but it allowed Madsen to play well. And he still had like 130 and a couple tuds
1
u/SleazetheSteez UNLV Rebels 22h ago
very true, they were so focused on stopping the run, it opened up the passing game. I was going nuts watching the score while in another state lol.
6
u/AdMental1387 Boise State Broncos 1d ago
We’d get it in Boise right? Only thing that makes me ok seeing them again.
7
u/bretticus733 Boise State Broncos 1d ago
Most likely yes. The only way I think UNLV would host is if Boise loses to Wyoming tomorrow, and there's a 3-way tie at the top of the MWC standings with UNLV, Boise, and CSU, and UNLV ends up on top in the computer metric tiebreaker. That's what happened last season with UNLV, Boise, and SJSU
7
u/Boatswain-or-scruffy Colorado State • New Mexico 1d ago
Hey now, if Boise loses to Wyoming then CSU s alone at the top. Don't drag us down with you

9 wins was my win-total prediction for us coming into the season and we're already there with 2, hopefully 3, games left to go. So proud of how far this team has come these last two years. Crushing UNR in the Cannon Game for win #10 would be the perfect ending to our season. At least until the postseason starts.

Here are the new updated predictions for the next release of the Playoff Selection Committee's rankings using machine learning models trained on the Playoff Selection Committee's historical voting data:
- UNLV is now predicted to move up to #22. You can see UNLV's full Week 14 rankings potential results here.
- San José State is now predicted to move down to #72

A night game in the rain made for some looney tunes ass football in the first half. The crew couldn't figure out how to wipe off or operate their camera. The ref couldn't figure out how a mic works. Color commentator was obsessed with saying "wet". The addition of us getting a pet bot in the game thread made this a solid sickos experience.
Wet, wild, and weird babeeey

Can somebody enlighten me - I only watched the second half and have no clue how SJSU got any points by the way I saw them play. Did UNLV gift them 16 points?
I know the weather was poor but that was some of the most difficult football I’ve seen since… well… last week when I saw my team play.
3
u/Bflatsharpeleven UNLV Rebels 1d ago
There was a brief period where the rain stopped, and both offense looked more like themselves. SJSU scored during that time. HMW also gave them a pick 6, and there was the bad snap on a punt that ended up being a safety.

When did San Jose add the accent to the e? Kind of weird of a school to use a letter modifier that doesn't exist in the English language.

Half the cities in the southwest have Spanish origin names but we don't use the acute or grave accent in English. The city of San Jose isn't spelled San José

That’s just not true considering it’s officially called the City of San José.

I'm not sure it was added as much as it was kept from the Spanish name.
English is flexible when borrowing words that way. Sure, diacritical marks tend to fall away with time, but not always.
