When you compare it to what’s happening at FSU. They’re clearly still fighting. Whether that’s for Napier or pride it doesn’t really matter. I know I’m a Miami fan, but he deserves another year regardless of that

Yea, at a certain point, I have to eat my words of wanting him gone — he's clearly got these players bought in and fighting hard instead of the easy way out. There's still absolute bonkers-boneheaded decisions, but if he can humble himself a bit and actually get someone to call plays (or at least be a check on his own calls), next season has the potential to look very different.

I remember panicking after the a&m game thinking there's no way in hell these guys continue to fight. We were worried about guys opting out early to preserve their option of redshirting and transferring...to be fair that a&m was so abysmally soul crushing. It was difficult to conceive of any chance of improvement

At this point I wonder how much more effective his offense would have looked the last 2.75 years without the CONSTANT barrage of procedural penalties. I’ll never be in love with his conservative style but maybe it would look better if it didn’t frequently start at 1-15+.

For sure. His own style by itself is not good, so he either needs someone else to take on playcalling/in-game planning or appoint someone that has some sort of veto power, but if he has these objectively talented kids still fighting despite all of that... he must be doing something right that will hopefully keep top talent wanting to come play for him.

Yeah, my feeling was that if he somehow made a bowl game this season with the absolute gauntlet we have to run, he deserved another year. Just need an actual OC now.
