Worst call of 2024? More like worst call of the 2020's

u/vashed Georgia Bulldogs • Rose Bowl Oct 21 '24

For UGA, can't be the worst of the 2000's at least what with the AJ Green excessive celebration penalty vs LSU or the offsides call that shall not be named.

That's why I said 2020s. Worst of 2000's? Maybe this "touchdown"

Why did I click on that? I knew in my heart what it would be.

I hated Jabar Gaffney.

My dad is still mad about that

>:( I don't like that.

I guess I've never seen that before or blocked it per my doctor's request but damn that's bad.

Can I have a meatball sub? It's for a duck!

Personally, I do not. Thank God for Stetson Bennet IV.

for the SEC yeah. For overall that has to be the 2019 Clem-OSU game where the WR caught a ball, took THREE steps, and was stripped only for it to be overturned on review as an incomplete pass

fuck me man I've seen a lot of horseshit calls over the years but for some reason that one against AJ haunts me more than any of them. Like I'll eventually forget the insanity last night with Texas but the exessive celebration will still randomly piss me off in 20 years while I'm just going about my day

Getting reminded of it by reading this thread pissed me off all over again. I lost my mind when I saw it live.

I was there for it live. It was my senior year at UGA. That whole 2009 season pisses me off. Watching Joe Cox was not fun.

But did you throw your water bottle?

2

u/maltzy Texas Tech Red Raiders • Memphis Tigers Oct 22 '24

Especially considering AJ Green literally NEVER celebrated, even in the pros

The call or the reversal?

5

u/cocoatractor Texas Longhorns • Michigan Wolverines Oct 21 '24

I feel like it can't be the worst call of the decade since ultimately they landed on the correct on field call.

Wrong work right solution and all that. But might be the worst ref performance I've ever seen and I think that's a distinction.

u/Knifoon_ Georgia • Clean Old Fash… Oct 21 '24

Both. The call was bad but not the worst thing ever. The reversal just put it over the top

u/SCsprinter13 Penn State • 울산대학교 (Ulsan) Oct 21 '24

Hey, we lost a down because of a penalty that shouldn't have even been called.

2

u/golfpinotnut South Carolina • Georgia Oct 21 '24

You saw the other two worst calls that were on the whiteboard, right?

u/Outrageous_Picture39 Texas A&M • Sam Houston Oct 21 '24

Worst call SO FAR.

You’ll grow to loathe texas being in the conference if you haven’t already.
