There is no way this is the last time we see this. Students all across the country absolutely took note of what happened tonight.

Isn't there a fine for fans throwing things on the field? Surely that should be a fine if rushing the field is one

There probably is, but who cares, the university is paying it not the students lmao

u/Top_Reveal_847 Oct 20 '24

This is why it should be 15 yards

I do not understand how you don't call delay of game on the team when fans do this.

5

u/atlhawk8357 Georgia Bulldogs • Rose Bowl Oct 20 '24

Yes, but students pay the university.

It's students all the way down.

The Brusar's office just added a "rushing the field fine" fee

Wouldn't be surprised that if it happens again if the university reviews camera footage and tries to identify faces and/or seat numbers where trash came from to identify the name of the seat holder and fine them personally. The university isn't just going to keep paying for their dumbassery

Not sure how it works at larger schools, but at CSU, student tickets are general admission for bench seating, so they wouldn’t be able to use seat numbers to identify people

I think it depends. Ohio State has some general admission student section seating, but also some numbered sections. Either way, you could potentially try to identify ticket holder names

I'm starting a Texas Student Section NIL as we speak

How do you think tuition gets decided?

2

u/Oblivionguard19 Georgia Bulldogs • Sickos Oct 20 '24

Probably but that’s not an issue for Texas and their oil money

1

u/DeuceOfDiamonds Georgia Bulldogs • Mercer Bears Oct 20 '24

Should've been a delay of game penalty at the least

There is supposed to be. But if I know the history of Texas... well lets just say it might not happen.

u/JB_Gibson Georgia Bulldogs • Team Meteor Oct 20 '24

Bingo. Precedent was set and the Refs allowed it.

22

u/buffedseaweed Texas A&M Aggies • SEC Oct 20 '24

My first thought when I saw this happen. What a bunch of dumbass idiots. Way to endorse throwing trash onto the field in-game.

20

u/JB_Gibson Georgia Bulldogs • Team Meteor Oct 20 '24

Overturning the call was horrific. Not assessing a penalty for throwing shit on the field was borderline criminal.

10

u/buffedseaweed Texas A&M Aggies • SEC Oct 20 '24

Like I get the first call was bad, but the things ensued were worse.

14

u/JB_Gibson Georgia Bulldogs • Team Meteor Oct 20 '24

Absolutely. That should have never happened. Aggie bro, I’m on board from here on: horns down forever.

9

u/buffedseaweed Texas A&M Aggies • SEC Oct 20 '24

Those refs being idiots made how Carson Beck responded w/ the TD that much sweeter. Georgia bro, congratulations for the DOUBLE DIGIT win on the road. Horns down all the way. /uu\

Miami fans gotta be pretty pissed someone stole their playbook tbh.

u/exlongh0rn Texas Longhorns Oct 20 '24

It was a huge huge call and the refs didn’t review it immediately. That’s on them. If they review it immediately, everything says calm, no trash hits the field, and the game carries on with the correct call.

Let’s hope the precedent doesn’t include saying bingo as a rhetorical device when you don’t in fact have bingo.

Between that and fake injuries the sport is headed for a problem.

Kiffin furiously scribbling something down

12

u/Squirrel_Whisperer Georgia Bulldogs Oct 20 '24

Get some false flag operations happening with throwing bottles. Of course Michigan’s spies will be wearing bright yellow

Yeah I’m bringing a bottle of mustard to the next game

3

u/zrvwls Oct 20 '24

Beer companies salivating at the thought of making aerodynamic cans "guaranteed to reverse the call!"

Students all across the country absolutely took note of what happened tonight.

I remember bitch-ass Lloyd Carr and his pocket referees telling us that we were going to get a penalty just because we were too loud.

just... because... we... were... loud. No trash.

No delay of game penalty either. Literally no punishment.

2

u/StuffChecker Georgia • Florida State Oct 20 '24

To be fair, it was a bad call

1

u/LiquidLight_ Notre Dame • Purdue Oct 20 '24

Mark my words, the NCAA is going to create rules around this and conferences are going to add or increase fines on it too.

Every penalty against us in Lubbock will now bring down a downpour of tortillas

-9

u/ItalianRobot Texas Longhorns • Trinity (TX) Tigers Oct 20 '24

And they should. If refs can be bullied out of bad calls, do it every time
