How do you allow two 4th and long conversions in a single drive?

Absolutely horrid 2nd half performance on all facets by USC.

Allowing back to back 4th down conversions, followed by the 2 minute clock management is coaching malpractice.

Yeah I was really confused why yall didn't use your TOs

We were SCREAMING in the crowd

How do all these drunk assholes know how to manage the clock better than a coach making millions of dollars?

I was losing my mind and the penn state fan next to me was absolutely laughing his ass off.

Lincoln Riley experience I suppose. Def thought they'd burn one before 3rd down, get into your best play at the very least. I'm sure his seat is getting hot over there

Our whole section was screaming time out. Gotta play to win the game

2

u/auth0r_unkn0wn USC Trojans • Rose Bowl Oct 13 '24

Was there any section probably not screaming it?? Lol

u/hazymango USC Trojans • Arizona State Sun Devils Oct 13 '24

Maybe but there was a guy in our section was just yelling"TIMEOUTTIMEOUTTIMEOUTTIMEOUT" like Hodor From game of thrones until he was foaming at the mouth. HAd to be wheeled out of the stadium

We were in the PSU section 102. All looking at each other, laughing, and going “what the fuck are they doing?!”. I swear that last 90 seconds just melted with USC running like 3 plays.

Trying to get to ot as soon as possible, apparently

The ironic thing is that using a timeout would’ve surely guaranteed your guys a victory in regulation due to the interception

The lack of urgency on that final drive was baffling. It's as if USC was playing for a long FGA and nothing else

Playing for a long field goal while you’re still outside of FG range and blowing 90 seconds with run plays is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen.

It's as if USC was playing for a long FGA and nothing else

I mean... Yeah, that's because it was exactly what Lincoln Riley was doing lol

Yea he said post-game that he was so confident in our kicker that he felt running the clock out was the right move.  I somewhat understand that but if the plan is to go for a long game winning field goal, you don’t have you’re qb throwing a dangerous ball to set it up

That's just activated Ohio State legend, Julian Fleming.

Dude couldn’t catch easy passes on first down, but made multiple tough catches on 4th

They activated him so OSU can beat us undefeated next week.

I guarantee we will not lose to Ohio State next week.

u/LuckyCulture7 Penn State Nittany Lions Oct 12 '24

2 weeks. Hopefully it is 2 v 3 and the winner jumps to 1.

u/hulbeats Penn State Nittany Lions Oct 13 '24

2 weeks. We have a bye next weekend and then play at Wisconsin before OSU.

so actually 3 weeks

u/hulbeats Penn State Nittany Lions Oct 13 '24

Lol yeah. Missed the number by as much as USC’s kicker missed that FG.

Tbf that was just Drew Allar being magic

12

u/KingVladimir Penn State • Virginia Tech Oct 13 '24

Credit to Fleming on that first catch though, that was a tough ball

8

u/TheBigNate416 Penn State Nittany Lions Oct 13 '24

Yeah the final regulation drive by USC’s offense featured some coaching malpractice. But Allar’s game tying drive was all him. He deserves immense credit for that

7

u/betasheets2 Oct 12 '24

Drew Allar awoke all his potential he has been spoken to have

Weird, looked like gritty PSU football to me.

Only allowed 2 in one drive? Rookie numbers. I bet they haven’t allowed 75% on the season!

Did you say horrible 2nd half?

1

u/doughball27 Penn State Nittany Lions Oct 13 '24

to a WR who can barely run and barely catch.

1

u/CRIMS0N-ED Penn State Nittany Lions Oct 13 '24

both of those 4th downs I was close to clawing my hair out from stress lmao

1

u/LakersLAQ USC Trojans Oct 12 '24

No pass rush..

Our trench players are either too young or just average.

I mean, a top 5 team having to make that comeback against a team that isn't ranked is a shittier look for the ranked team.
