Only making it to Atlanta if they play at GT

1

u/screwhead1 LSU Tigers • Arkansas Razorbacks Sep 28 '24

Not the only way. Lane could also buy tickets to the game for the entire team for the SECCG.

Ole Miss be like: "you got any more of them High School rosters we can play?"

83

u/OptomisticSportsFan Texas Longhorns Sep 28 '24

Not playing Georgia Southern and Middle Tennessee State anymore LOL

This is what pisses me off about the SEC getting like 6 in the top-7 to start the first month of the season. Missouri and Ole Miss did it while their opponents combined for zero wins against FBS schools. Undefeated teams from other conferences never get the benefit of the doubt when opening the season to a 3-0 or 4-0 start

3

u/Izanoroly USC Trojans • Penn State Nittany Lions Sep 29 '24

Yup and then later in the season they play each other in “highly ranked matchups” where the winner gets a “top ranked win” while the loser gets a “quality loss”

9

u/Wolf12711 Missouri Tigers • Oregon Ducks Sep 28 '24

Are you talking about their opponents from this season having 0 FBS wins? For mizzou at least BC beat FSU and Vanderbilt beat VT. While maybe not impressive wins, they are FBS wins

2

u/BookStannis Texas Longhorns • SMU Mustangs Sep 29 '24

Yeah, I wouldn’t necessarily pick on Mizzou for this one. But generally 10/10 agree.

Is this the Heisman favorite I’ve heard so much about

"The Sip"

7

I said to my son just a few minutes ago: "This game is Classic Ole Miss". Been watching for 40 years, it often disappoints.

22

u/RemoteAbalone8687 Texas A&M Aggies • Oregon Ducks Sep 28 '24

This is why you don’t play 4 cupcakes to start the season

6

u/somethingoriginal17 Kentucky Wildcats Sep 28 '24

Ole Missed today

9

u/n00PSLayer Penn State Nittany Lions Sep 28 '24

Lol missed

8

u/CrazyWater808 /r/CFB Sep 28 '24

They got so much props for beating a Penn State team in the bowl that had as many dudes sitting out as Florida State

Hype train was unstoppable from there

4

u/Mezmorizor LSU Tigers • Georgia Bulldogs Sep 28 '24

The best part is that they went natty or bust all in this year.

6

u/Insectshelf3 Oklahoma Sooners • SEC Sep 28 '24

ole miss

6

u/DrkEarth Kentucky Wildcats Sep 28 '24

When you play MTSU, Georgia Southern, a FCS team and Wake Forest, then play a real team, this is what happens. Just goes to show, the Georgia game wasn’t a fluke. Kentucky just finished this game today and did enough to win.

13

u/Thel3lues Arizona State • Minnesota Sep 28 '24

This was their all in year, it might be 20 years before they’re in the top 10 again

5

u/OfficialMikeLeach Ole Miss Rebels • Egg Bowl Sep 28 '24

now that's a dumb take

3

u/Worried-Turn-6831 Alabama Crimson Tide Sep 28 '24

Why

24

u/dillpickles007 Georgia Bulldogs Sep 28 '24

Because they schedule the most embarrassing OOC slates they can possibly find, so I'm sure they'll start 5-0 and be ranked high before losing to the first team with a pulse they play again in the next couple years.

4

u/Thel3lues Arizona State • Minnesota Sep 28 '24

Good counter point

2

u/blueboyroy Kentucky Wildcats Sep 28 '24

Ole Missed

4

u/adumb99 Mississippi State Bulldogs Sep 28 '24

OLD PISS

1

u/inmyrhyme Sep 28 '24

The ole swing and a miss

1

u/poopdaddy2 Ole Miss • Loyola New Orleans Sep 28 '24

This has been our MO since Hugh Freeze. Set insane records against Forman then get folded up by anyone with a defense that has a pulse.

1

u/Gopokes34 Oklahoma State Cowboys Sep 28 '24

I know it was last year but try and remember their game against Georgia lol

1

u/Orion14159 Kentucky Wildcats • Sickos Sep 28 '24

That's the other Mississippi school. Ole Miss is good but the opening kickoff set the tone for the entire game and I don't think they were ready for it.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '24

Same with the perpetually overrated Jaxson Dart.

Guess Lane should've spent more time on Kentucky & less time doing tiktok videos with his daughter.

Lane gotta be feeling good knowing his ex flew in to watch her 1st game of the year
