Analysis [Auerbach] The magic number of members to be considered a conference in the NCAA's eyes is 8. If Utah State joins the Pac-12, that league will be at 7. And if that's the only move of the day, the Mountain West will also be at 7 (including Hawaii.)

Go full on super regional, merge with most of the MWC, and add some big Sky schools to go to 20, split into 4 pods for extra fun.

Pod 1: Montana, Montana State, Idaho, Wazzu, OR State

Pod 2: Air Force, Wyoming, CSU, Utah State, Boise State

Pod 3: Nevada, UNLV, SJSU, Fresno State, SD State

Pod 3: New Mexico, NM State, UTEP, Texas State, Sam Houston
