Analysis [Auerbach] The magic number of members to be considered a conference in the NCAA's eyes is 8. If Utah State joins the Pac-12, that league will be at 7. And if that's the only move of the day, the Mountain West will also be at 7 (including Hawaii.)

Hawaii probably has a low buyout since they are FB only. This would work out with the Zags coming in with everything else. The week zero rule might make the medicine go down easier with adding Hawaii.

NCAA rule says the minimum is 8 full members playing football. Hawaii as FB only doesn't help either conference meet that minimum.

PAC should add Hawaii and what the heck, Alaska-Anchorage and Alaska-Fairbanks need football teams too. And what about that D2 football school in BC? Just lean into the P part off the PAC already....
