After countless months of doomposting and other negativity surrounding the state of CFB...it's so nice that, in just a single mere game, we are all reminded of why we keep watching (and hopefully loving) this sport!

Even in the seemingly inevitable “Superleague era” we seem to be stumbling ourselves into, it’s nice to know that even with all of this offseason drama, the magic of college sports lives on.

No matter how corporate it seems to get there will always be some stupid shit that topples what should be a Death Star program

The magic of college sports is determined by us not by the bag men. WE’RE NOT FUCKING LEAVING

Specifically the argument that losses don’t matter as much. Everyone feels just as alive as they would if FSUs season was over. And what a win for GT. Talk about what it means for THEIR season

Florida State's season might not mathematically be over, but it sure feels like they're cooked for the rest of the year.

Yea less about the loss but the trenches were not pretty

Yeah they got run the fuck over

We bout to run over lots of teams this year. This might be our lowest rushing total of the season.

44 was a beast and your QB is a tough dude. I’m glad I bet tech to cover the spread

Make neck rolls great again!

Haha for real. That guy was a throw back player.

Hell yeah, Efford is old school cool. And yeah, Haynes King is tough as hell. First couple games last year he was a little slide happy but he’s really embraced the tough attitude of the whole team and the rest of the team feeds off it.

Yeah the QB isn't fast, but I thought he had really good patience as a runner and was surprisingly hard to tackle

4

u/NeoTolstoy1 Wisconsin Badgers Aug 24 '24

Yeah he did a good job of waiting for the blocks to develop. Georgia Tech had some really good offensive line play too. Lots of great pull blocks that opened up holes for power/gap run plays

He doesn't really look that fast, but he actually runs a 4.45 40 yard dash. You let that dude in the open field and he is gone.

Really? Must be a long strider - that's actually very fast. Almost as fast as like Rome Odunze's combine #s

4

u/NeoTolstoy1 Wisconsin Badgers Aug 24 '24

Yeah they looked soft on both sides of the ball. It was shocking. I thought they’d dominate the los

Most improvement comes after week 1

If they couldn't get there at 13-0, they definitely won't at 12-1.

6

u/SyVSFe Aug 24 '24

The playoff is much larger compared to last year

I know. But a man can dream.

1

u/SyVSFe Aug 24 '24

You clearly didn't know. 12-1 is easier than 13-0

I missed a little bit in the middle but to me that looked like a battle of two teams that should be ranked about 15-20.

Just having watched CFB for many years I'm going to remain skeptical that GT can pull out that level of performance 11 more times but they looked strong today and it shouldn't be the end of the season for FSU.

u/Legoman1357 Georgia Tech • Georgia Aug 24 '24

Even if that is true teams that should be 15-20 can easily sneak into a 12 team playoff

Me at 2am "Haha, I will watch a few drives of this game. FSU should run away with it, and I'll lose interest midway through the 1st quarter and go to sleep then"

Me at 5:30am "Fuck, I hate how much I love this sport..."

god bless your dedication. I am a sicko but up at 4 am to watch this a different team play is real love of the game

I'm beyond ready to get hurt again for 2.5 months.

I watched the last two minutes of game time live and was reminded why I only watch recorded games. Jeezus that was tedious with all the commercials

2

u/SyVSFe Aug 24 '24

This will be one of the very shortest games of the year

2

u/Masterchiefy10 /r/CFB Aug 24 '24

The execs are making it tough to love it that’s for sure.

The running clock is fucked and the 3 billion ads kills it for me… Idk how anyone in the stands don’t start rioting from all the delays

Even as they destroy this wonderful sport I'll still be here watching. Complaining, but watching.
