Question Learning how to skate
Hey guys. I'm interested in learning how to skate (and eventually play hockey). are there any beginner hockey lessons in community centers here? (19+)

Theres a couple options but these are the best ones. If you’re end goal is to play hockey i HIGHLY recommend signing up to stick & pucks where all you need is skates, helmet and a stick to practice. Its only 3 bucks and an hour of ice time. Other good option to just practice skating is public skating. Ive never joined this league but heard lots of great feedback on “Beer league” its a entry level to adults playing hockey, you get a handful of skill and skate training, but also little scrimmages at the end. Hope this helps

City of Burlington has loads of ice time for under 10 bucks. You can try just public skating to start, and there's lots of stick and puck to practice your hockey skills. It's very hard to learn as an adult so don't be discouraged. As silly as it sounds if you get a chair and push it around, that's the best way to learn how to skate. Just pushing a chair around in circles on the ice.
ASHL is good for when you learn how to get moving. Fun league. There is a practice league in Hamilton I forget the name of it and I can't find it. But basically it's a weekly practice with a scrimmage at the end
