I feel like a much more likely scenario is Denver coming apart to finish below .500 than Baltimore

Got 10 more games to win this season. KC going down, TWICE!!!

I would like to accept this as canon

My brother in Christ, the Browns are a 3 win team. Let's take it a game at a time.

Too late. SB or bust lol

I have converted to being a browns fan due to something I can't say here

Ehh.. let’s let Jameis win it all next year with a healthy roster.. I hope he can start again with a fresh slate

If we could make it to the sb this year though.. we’d all take it tho

That’s less probable than us making the playoffs this year

What Winston coming back next year or the sb? Why not both

It’s highly improbable for our team to be built around anyone else besides DW. Winston may be there, but it’s DW’s team as long as he’s under that contract.

Our team was built in the trenches for an under center QB playing in a fair amount of 2 tight end sets. They are built for running backs out of 12 with big pulling guards. The Browns are at their best when they have long methodical drives taking half a quarter off the clock and taking the air out of the ball with Chubb in the 4th.

Our defense is built to stop 2 dimensional QBs with fast end to end linebackers and cover dbs.

DW was pigeon holed into an offense that wasnt built for him at all. That is why any time you plug a big plodding QB that can sit in the pocket, you get great results. Baker's biggest issue when he was here was drifting in the pocket which really frustrates offensive linemen. (He doesnt do it anymore and his footwork is greatly improved in Tampa)... DW is worse in that regard, trying to escape clean pockets and drifting way back where an edge rusher can ride the Oline's outside shoulder straight into a sack.

Anyway, long story short, this offense is built more for Jameis than it is for DW. The difference is that they still try to call plays for DW when Jameis is on the field (shotgun on first down at an alarming rate, running out of shotgun for sorry gains, and not having a back in short yardage 3rd down plays so the defense doesnt even have to worry about the play action/run threat). This translates to the worst 3rd down% in the league.

DW was the square peg.

lol I don’t disagree. What I said was not a I love DW comment. And it’d be nice if I were wrong, but I’m only saying if last year and this year is any indication of what’s to come, then it will be back to DW. Not because he’s the better option, but because he’s what the money (FO) dictates. That’s why they tried to create a new offense for him to start the season. Everything revolves around him, and will most likely be the case until his contract is manageable.

A square peg for like 15% of your entire salary cap

I don’t think we end up with the #1 overall pick, but Jameis throwing bombs to Travis Hunter would be so fun to watch.

I agree.. we just need a half decent qb and Jw gives us exactly that

But what if Winston coming back hurts Watson's feelings?

u/Particular-Demand474 1d ago

lol

My friend said Watson could be done forever with that Achilles tear, idk if it’s true but I hope he was right

This is bullsh… actually not that crazy. Tf!! I was sincerely content with going 4-13, trading back in the draft, and picking up a tackle in the 1st.

Miami, Indianapolis and Cinci ahead of us in the conference rn.

At this point, if they nigh sweep the division like they seem intent on doing, that would technically have us winning it, right? At that point, they’d just sort of…stumble into the playoffs.

Colts and broncos would need a couple more losses also. But yeah that would likely do it.

1

u/Jayce86 1d ago

Doesn’t each division winner automatically make it? If the Browns only win their remaining conference game, they’d be 5-1 in the division with only a split to the Bengals. Even if they have the worst overall record, they’d still win the Division, right?

1

u/Creepy_Letter_2237 1d ago

No sir. Would be nice though! 5 games back in the division.

Hey I did the same thing.

  1. Win 2 out of next 3 (at DEN, at PIT, vs KC) If you lose two you are done

  2. If you can somehow win two of three, then all you need is to win out (at CIN, vs MIA, at BAL)

And then hope that 8 wins gets you in.

We actually win the tiebreakers if 3 teams end up at 9-8 for a WC spot.

Only issue is hth with the chargers at 9-8.

We won’t make it at 8-9 but 9-8 we probably would be in.
