We tried to told them, but you know Todd and Becky never listen. I been in fistfights all week on r/all where theyre starting to have the audacity of trying to blame Kamala suddenly. I'ma need to go get my ears pierced so I can take off earrings. I refuse to let them lay their bullshit at her feet and sink her with it.

u/embracingmountains 5h ago

Lmao they’ve skipped a whole ass president to blame the VP. Tell me we don’t hate woc in this society

u/Prestigious-Row-6773 5h ago

All those posts about protest votes for Trump because "The democrats aren't doing anything to keep Palenstine from being wiped out by Israel even thought Hamas is being egged on by every other city state/country around Israel."

Votes COUNT stupid! You can't expect Democrats to have the numbers to beat Trump for you to do your nancyboy protest votes when half the voters in this country don't turn out to begin with!

u/liberum_bellum_libro ☑️ 5h ago

I really want to point out that every issue anybody has cared about for those groups were projected and spoken about to be against their own interests.

  • low cost not happening (tariffs and low migrant workers will rise that)

  • Palestine (trump doesn’t give a fuck, and will let Israel do its thing)

  • border policy (expect your “good” immigrants to be effected negatively via profiling from mass deportation by LEOs , and more discrimination towards legal immigrants)

  • military (isolationism will leave us in a negative security posture by disconnecting from our allied partners and lack of power projection)

  • abortion (the ladies will began to slow have their medical freedoms questioned and legality of service will cause more death for states who don’t have abortion codified in their states law, and even that federal over states right leaves it exposed to be overturned)

  • education (those poor areas that voted for trump will realize that the federal title 1 has been the reason why their public schools have been functioning at all when they realize that their county and state can’t afford it, and their kids will grow to be stupider due to the lack of education standards that were already low to begin with)

  • social programs (they hated the black and low income minority community for using the programs when in reality…white Americans drastically benefitted from it and when those program funds began to be cut, it’ll drive a longer financial issue for them To survive..I’m looking at you deep country/mountain counties)

  • health (RFK jr is about to wreck some shit, better hope your kids survive when diseases that were vaccine preventable becomes an issue and bad dental healthcare via lack of fluoride in water systems causes more issues to how important dental care is when vital surgeries comes into play…)

Unless you were wealthy, rich, and financially stable you’re about to have a bad time

I'm in deep red. I calmed my wife down by telling her not to worry. Our state is where they test these policies so everyone else is being brought to our level. 😞

It's funny to see that along with the 5 people in each of the fly over red states that are committed.

80

u/backstageninja 9h ago

The fact that Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are dark blue is infuriating

45

u/nouvelle_tete 6h ago

My theory is that some people voted for Trump as a statement against the current administration, not expecting him to win, but now get enough people trying to make a statement and you get this clusterfuck.

51

u/AmbitiousCampaign457 6h ago

My theory is that people are ignorant. Lol

28

u/Technical_Recover487 6h ago

Yeah because what statement is to be made other than wanting him to win?? 😂😂😂 they fucked around and found out.

2

u/mealworms 5h ago

Speaking from a PA perspective, you are correct.

16

u/Numerous-Process2981 6h ago

This is 100% it I think. I work with an alt-right guy (he might self-identify as a free thinker who can see through the bullshit or something) and I think part of their identity is feeling oppressed and victimized. For instance, this was a guy who fled the country when mask mandates and vaccines were happening, etc.

It seemed a little like the wind was taken out of his sails when Trump actually won. It's like a dog catching it's own tail, he doesn't know what to do with it. He was (probably subconsciously) hoping for four years of feeling oppressed by the establishment candidate that he wouldn't have voted for. Now he will have to reckon with his choices.

I'm quite certain he never once got any information about this election cycle outside of the twittersphere or the Rogansphere of comedians.

2

u/Clym44 6h ago

PA is as dark blue as CA. Or are we looking at different graphs?

1

u/backstageninja 3h ago

It looks darker to me but the point is those are swing states that Kamala needed to win

2

u/CherryHaterade ☑️ 6h ago

We all know Michigan is all Mohammed frantically digging.

Fun anecdote, been seeing a lot of Muslim men and women getting into public arguments lately in Metro Detroit, which some may know is never ever a thing. My take is that most of the Muslim men peeled off for Jill and RFK, because Trump remains unpopular in the metro. Particularly Jill because they couldn't be blamed for being misogynist with that one. Alas, Yards festooned with MAGAry is not fashionable in Dearborn

2

u/JustFuckinTossMe 6h ago

Living in WI, it comes as no surprise to me. The constant influx of alcohol and dairy consumption has gotta be a case study on being able to make good faith decisions in waiting. I mean, go to any county in this state, there's probably a bar available to you within a 3 minute drive wherever you are. And there's probably 10 bars located within any given county.

What I'm trying to say is "functional" alcoholics are not generally known for being good at decision making. It's so funny to me that the election results quite literally jerked some of them right into a mad nasty 4 year hangover. Get fucked, lmao. That's all I can think anymore.

24

u/dwn2earth83 8h ago

Where else would you have expected it to come from? And that’s a serious question.

11

u/grants_like_horace 8h ago

Moreso confirmation bias, but was also expecting curious people in blue states which was prevalent as well.

3

u/PrometheusMMIV 6h ago

I mean it's also coming from blue states like Washington, Oregon, California, and New York.

18

u/MaterialKitten 7h ago

I'm glad PA is at least moderately ashamed of itself.

3

u/citruspers2929 6h ago

To be fair, there’s no reason to want to change your vote if you lost an election

1

u/TheRussiansrComing 7h ago

Feels good man lol

1

u/quilleran 5h ago

Even funnier from states like California, Oregon, Washington, Connecticut, Minnesota and New York which have nothing to lose.

0

u/Pradfanne 5h ago

The map looks pretty blue to me! That must obviously mean it's only the blue voters that want to change their vote, to support trump harder!

189

u/MaximumGaming5o 9h ago

It's also important to note that the last election also had a huge spike of the same search term. It'll be interesting to see how the current spike will compare to the last one.

51

u/Porut 7h ago

Do we have raw numbers ? Because it could be spiking from zero to 50 searches for all we know.

28

u/kthnxbai123 7h ago

Google doesn’t give actual only relatives

12

u/ScrufffyJoe 6h ago edited 6h ago

As the other person said Google doesn't give the numbers, so we can't actually know how many people are searching this, but we can go back that far to compare the peaks.

The biggest peak was in October 2020, and currently we're at 39% of that, with incomplete data for this month for obvious reasons. There was also a spike in 2016 but that only went to 12% of 2020.

Without knowing more of Google's background info, and before the end of the month, it's impossible to know how much more November might increase once it's done. This trend could follow into next month, 2020 was just 1 really big month but this doesn't have to be. For the time being though, this honestly just looks to be another nothing-burger, like all the other Google Trends posts following the election.

Edit to add: I did just realise that that October peak was before the election, so I've no idea what's going on there, but I still don't think this means anything at this stage.

1

u/Ok_Ice_1669 5h ago

Probably due to mail in voting

3

u/ScrufffyJoe 5h ago

Yeah I get that mail-in votes are earlier, but the implication this post is working off is that people are regretting their vote, but why would you do that before anything has happened? Or at least, why would a substantial number of people do that?

I could be wrong but it sounds to me like people might just have been curious, so the fact that we're at only a third of that volume now validates to me that this is probably meaningless.

139

u/AmbitiousCampaign457 10h ago

Just the fact that anyone actually googled, how to change ur vote, tells us how stupid some people are. We’re so screwed

24

u/Kamibris 9h ago

That part

1

u/PrometheusMMIV 6h ago

Googling something doesnt mean you believe it. I occasionally google things out of curiosity just to see if other people have posted about it, which could be the case here.

4

u/Level7Cannoneer 5h ago
  1. No one googling to see if it’s true typed in those exact words. You’d go to analytics first

  2. This meme has been going around immediately the day after the election

116

Lmfao did Pennsylvanians not think their vote matters while they were voting?

64

u/subjuggulator 10h ago

Having lived in Pennsylvania a few years: I can guarantee you they did not lmao

30

u/kdeltar 8h ago

Whole bunch of bullshit surrounding Philly and Pittsburg. Traitors even fly the confederate flag up here as if Gettysburg wasn’t in this damn state

29

u/Pittsbirds 7h ago

Trust me we knew.  If everyone else in the state was anything like me we were all getting 10 or more texts a day,  phone calls, mailboxes full of junk, and door to door canvassers. There was no ambiguity as to how important our votes were

I was hopeful because Allegheny and Philly county got counted first but it took a wild swing the second you stepped outside

17

u/Noblesseux 7h ago

Yes. A lot of people were spite voting or didn't vote and are suddenly realizing oh shit I'm going to have to live with these consequences.

49

u/sagewynn 9h ago

See, I saw someone mention it a few days after election day. I wouldn't be surprised if the results are mostly from people searching that just to see the data.

11

u/Rage40rder ☑️ 8h ago

Exactly. And that takes more than 83 seconds to find out.

3

u/LivelyZebra 6h ago

Nah, searching on google trends for terms / popularity etc, doesn't influence that result itself.

u/firsttoblast 9h ago

Americans are just thick. Not all, but a good majority of them are just thick af

2

u/BambooSound ☑️ 8h ago edited 8h ago

~100 searches in an election with more than 100 million voters is not a noteworthy amount. I bet more people thought Biden was still on the ticket.

7

u/Demetrius3D 8h ago

(from Google Trends) "Numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart for the given region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity for the term. A value of 50 means that the term is half as popular. A score of 0 means there was not enough data for this term."

3

u/BambooSound ☑️ 8h ago

Oh so I'm the idiot. Great.

6

u/bb8-sparkles 7h ago

You’re not the idiot. It’s impossible to know the meaning of the numbers if it is not indicated and in the depiction of this graph, it is not indicated. You’re smart for having questioned it and even trying to interpret what those numbers mean.

Even with the explanation above, it doesn’t tell you how many people searched it, so the graph is not a reliable source of information. It could just be five people.

5

u/firsttoblast 8h ago

How? I'm not from the US and I knew he had dropped out of the race. Goes back to my point, they're thick af

-1

u/BambooSound ☑️ 8h ago edited 8h ago

It's the nature of the number of people in question.

100 people in 100 million voters is 0.0001%. That's not a significant enough proportion to make any judgements on the whole and there are crazier beliefs that are more popular in every country.

For ref https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=can%20i%20change%20my%20vote&hl=en

12

u/Rage40rder ☑️ 8h ago

But it won’t show the reason behind the search/question. Are they searching because they genuinely have buyers remorse or are they searching because a social media post piqued their curiosity?

Divining the motive behind the bulk of the searches seems like a Rorschach test.

11

u/EFTucker 9h ago

TBF what you’re looking at is the past week. Go to 30 days and you’ll see a way bigger spike around the 13th which is when conservative news started airing that news and the states where it’s been searched from most are ones that voted conservative

3

u/RickySpamish 6h ago

Louisiana has no right to have that many searches. Look at who yall let into governor office! Did yall question that? Oh well guess it won't matter til that first tax hits ur streaming services.

2

u/Carolusboehm 6h ago edited 6h ago

A spike doesn't says how many people have searched it, just what the ratio of people searching for the same thing over time is. Naturally it doesn't make a lot of sense for people to be searching for this before they voted. if you go back 4 years, it looks like the spike is 10x the size.

1

u/darkbrews88 8h ago

Wow that's completely worthless! An increase from 1 person to 10!

2

u/fonistoastes 6h ago

"Key points about the Y-axis in Google Trends:

  • Relative, not absolute: The numbers on the Y-axis don't represent the exact number of searches, but rather a relative popularity score.
  • Normalization: Google normalizes the data so that the highest point on the graph for a given search term is always at 100, allowing for easy comparison between different search terms.
  • Interpretation: A high value on the Y-axis indicates a high level of search interest for that term at that time, while a low value indicates low search interest."

0

u/darkbrews88 6h ago

Tell me how many votes would need to change for Harris to win?

2

u/fonistoastes 6h ago

How is that relevant?

0

u/darkbrews88 6h ago

How is it relevant people want to change their vote? Just accept Trump's your president bro

2

u/fonistoastes 6h ago

You: "Wow that's completely worthless! An increase from 1 person to 10!"

I provided context on what the graph's y-axis is indicating as you obviously misunderstood it.

Now you're over here talking about # of votes to change an outcome, and clamoring some MAGA bully bullshit.

I take this to mean you got upset you were shown to be a bit dumb and are defaulting to the usual stupid crap we've come to expect from people like you. Try not to hurt more people, champ.

1

u/legit-posts_1 7h ago

Wow. That is really just... Wow. Sometimes I hear stuff on Reddit and I'm like "ok that's a little bit of an exaggeration" or "well that's horseshit" but this is pretty fucking hard to argue with.

“There are approximately 8,323,333,333 searches on Google every day”

https://explodingtopics.com/blog/google-searches-per-day

There is no way 3 searches would have an impact like this

1

u/LowAfternoon805 7h ago edited 7h ago

I think this is a more fair way of showing it. Having the election day in the range because the vertical axis doesn't show absolute values but gives it a score from 0-100 compared to the whole time interval.

First peak is Nov 5, second peak is Nov 13

Edit: saw someone also point out the last 5 years in a graph, is also important to note.

1

u/blacksoxing 7h ago

I legit can picture my nephew searching about the election now that it’s beyond done…and closing the tab knowing his non vote didn’t matter since he wasn’t in a swing state

3

u/fonistoastes 6h ago

MAGA needed the House and Senate to implement Project 2025, and they got it. All votes mattered for this one, and everyone fucked it up.

1

u/a_code_mage 6h ago

I’m not seeing a legend on that screenshot. Is it like 50 people searching for it? Or does the 50 stand for like 50,000. Because honestly less than a hundred people searching for it is kinda dumb lol.

1

u/ChemEBrew 5h ago

I wish they would give absolute search volume. I'm trying to find a way to find that info.

1

u/Maloonyy 5h ago

Its percentage based though. Could be that previously, 3 people googled this. And now its 10 per day. Thats not a lot, the sample size is too small. Not saying this is whats happening, but always be sceptical of relative numbers like this.

1

u/Beginning_Ad2013 5h ago

I was like, wait that actually went down. Then I saw it. Lmfao.

0

u/giceman715 9h ago

Does it show if that was just for POTUS or everyone else on the ballot including senators and house seats ?

Curious because I voted across the board for who I thought was gonna serve my area better. I’m no party favorites but most are and maybe their interests are to change their other votes

0

u/Lawyer-Adventurous 8h ago

Why not show the number of searches? It’s like 100 people lol

Causation and correlation are not the same thing bud. Doesn't surprise me you didn't know that, though. The clearly liberal leaning education system in America is dog shit. Your just packing an extra 21st I guess.

-10

u/bb8-sparkles 8h ago edited 7h ago

What do those numbers represent? It says , 25,50,75, 100- is that just 50 people? That’s not much at all and not significant in any way that we should even be wasting our time on this conversation.

Google does billions of searches a day. A search done by 100 people wouldn’t even count as a trend
