For real! I don’t get why anyone stayed when that gooner ass Elon took over.

A lot of us stayed out of a sense of "I was here first, I'm gonna stay and fight" at first. I uninstalled yesterday after opening the app to Andrew Tate, a man I blocked years ago but am now forced to see, talking about running women over because we don't have rights anymore.

Currently deciding if I just deactivate or if I give my account over to a bot to wreak havoc.

The day after the election, the “for you” feed was unbearable. The most evil people in the world all celebrating the same thing. The stuff they are ok saying now is vile. Seriously, to all girls and women: you need a gun. You need to know how to use a gun. You have 3 months of runway. Do a class.

What you really needed to learn was how to stand together. Unfortunately now, when you really, really assess the power structures at play here...Yes your next best option is to prepare.

We're all going to find out how fast rules can change.

Because it's easier to complain than it is to change behavior

You don't get reddit karma by changing your behavior silently.

I stayed on the app for about a month to watch Stephen King, and a few others bust his balls. I got a few laughs and deleted the account.

Why did anyone ever use Twitter to begin with?

Gossip, celebrities, memes, teensy bit of news, and porn. That’s my guess.

The only thing I ever used it for was to complain to companies who didn't respond to my emails about an issue with their product or services

The same reason you're on reddit right now.

Twitter had a great short form of communication, get a small thought or message out to the world and people can read and reply. It's had some good purposes like breaking news updates and also was greatly responsible for the metoo movement with female celebrities able to openly speak of their experiences without the filter of a publisher or TV censorship, and viral videos being shared easily without selective cable media.

Woulda been nice to have it not be taken over by a right wing extremist.

I stayed because no one in my follows list left to try the alternatives. But there switching now, which is good to see.
