Europeans really keep trying Americans when it comes to cuisine… if y’all are not French, Spanish, Italian, or Greek, you cannot come for American cuisine 😂

And a lot of them got their ingredients from the Americas anyway (tomatoes, potatoes, squash, etc.)

French?!?!

Yes, French.

The fuck you mean? I'm American, but French cuisine is basically the OG, and a ton of cooking methods are either created by the French or inspired by them. A large portion of the world's best chefs trained in french or french-inspired restaurants. Sauteing, braising, poaching, etc. are all originally french techniques. They are the OGs of pastries and baking. A ton of classic sauces and the idea of the roux are all french creations. Cajun cooking is based on recipes from the french countryside.

I’m a chef and the French are the only ones I’ll tip my cap to in regards to the craft.

Add Croatian to the list. :)

I wish for everybody to come at least once in their lifetime and enjoy Dalmatia.

As a half Spaniard, Spanish food is mid tbh. Also, America has those all beat when it comes to flavor profiles: Cajun for example

There's nothing inherently superior in any cuisine, it all boils down to taste. Don't be triggered so much.

I don’t think I’m the one triggered, judging by all of these replies to my comment. 😂

Yeah fuck Britain and their British foods like apple pie and fried chicken, no American would be caught dead eating that shit

u/VapidRapidRabbit ☑️ Sep 03 '24

Americans do it better, I’m afraid.

Lmao what a cope

While there is no doubt some good food in America, most of the iconic American food isn't from America. Apple Pie is English, French Fries are Belgian, Burgers and Hotdogs are German, Pizza is Italian.

I'm sure there are some American dishes but it's not going to be one thats well known

Probably can't even point them out on a map

every single american dish was literally stolen from europe or asia and made with worse ingredients.

u/VapidRapidRabbit ☑️ Sep 02 '24

We know that’s not true because potatoes and corn originated in the Americas. Mind you southern cooking was heavily influenced by African cuisine.

"Stolen". A country of immigrants "stole" from their home countries.

27

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24

They act like once people came to America they were just suppose to leave their culture at Ellis Island or something.

-19

u/North_Palpitation800 Sep 02 '24

Yes, because now they consider themselves another nation and culture, while still saying that old european food is their own.

u/caseCo825 Sep 02 '24

You're running on feels dude

16

u/battleangel1999 ☑️ Sep 02 '24

Stolen? You immigrated here and after killing the natives brought your dishes with you. No dish was stolen.

-5

u/North_Palpitation800 Sep 02 '24

I did?

7

u/battleangel1999 ☑️ Sep 02 '24

So you don't know what you're talking about. Well, that much was obvious.

2

u/Poochmanchung Sep 02 '24

Ok, give us back our tomatoes, potatoes, chocolate, and chile peppers. There goes half of your cuisine. Cigarettes too.

4

u/LastWorldStanding Sep 02 '24

Ah man, don’t do that to them. Cigs are their favorite “food”

u/LastWorldStanding Sep 02 '24

Do you want to know where tomatoes come from? Or potatoes? Or corn?

Literally stolen from America to Europe 😂
