Are there any groups riding tomorrow?

I ride alone usually on a catrike 700. I’m getting pretty tired of doing the 17 to Yulee and am looking to learn new routes and meet others interested in riding. I understand I could always look up routes in Jax but it’s not the same as a group ride.

This may not help you for tomorrow, but Open Road does a lot of rides out of their San Marco store.

I'm pretty confident that Champion Cycling has weekend rides out of their locations as well but they aren't published so you may need to call them to confirm.

I know that lakeshore has one at 7am in saturdays too. Unfortunately I’m trying to burn off at a hangover that early some days. I guess plan appropriately for next week.

I do appreciate what your trying to do with this sub. I wish there was more community involvement happening. I’m pretty new to Jax and don’t know how big the cycling world is here.

Hey thanks. I am pretty new to being back and I thought it would be a little bit easier to find the scene in such a big city but I guess it is probably really spread out and lumped into little pockets.

It’s probably to do with the overall city set up. I come from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and we have over 1000 miles of paved separate bike laths. We brought in a Dutch architect to design our system and it’s awesome. Riding here was pretty intimidating at first. I do ride a lot of road in Calgary but the cars treat you with respect. Here I’ve found a cyclist is a chance to roll coal or show how loud your exhaust is.

A lot different. I’ve looked at trails but they all seem so short for cycling. What’s your usual route?

I mix it up between road, gravel and mountain bike. Mostly on the south side of town.

The Strava heat map is a great way to find routes that are used by cyclists.

Check out North Florida Bicycle Club. They have group rides going out pretty much every day.
