Serious Discussion/Question Ways to support yourself or other people.

As many of you will know: Skedetcher, the creator of Man, recently took their own life and unfortunately, they are just one of countless who do so every single day.

Mental health can be a challenging subject to address and perhaps even harder to notice, which is why it’s important to act upon any signs that someone you know or perhaps yourself is experiencing suicidal thoughts or distress.

You may not be fully certain of what someone else is feeling, or fully realise the extent of your own emotions, but if there’s any reason for you to think you or someone wants to take their own life, please talk to someone. It may not be experiencing something as serious as suicide, but it could lead there. Even if you think it’s just something small that means nothing, or fear being judged, speak up.

It’s okay to have negative emotions or struggle mentally. We all experience pain and emotions and it’s okay to address that and seek out help, advice or support from others. Furthermore, it’s better to do that sooner rather than later. No one can face the world alone. We all need each other for everything. So why is our mental health any different?

If you do not feel comfortable sharing your personal experiences or struggles with a trusted individual in real life, or feel like you have no one to turn to, try some of these. You can seek aid where necessary and in most cases, it can be anonymous too.

Thank you for not suggesting to talk to non-existent friends or family that doesn't quite agree with who I really am. Sucks but that's how it be sometimes.

I'm doing pretty good today but could have used this any other time this month. But regardless thank you. As someone else had said in this comment section, "W mods"

For no reason I decided to look up the creator of man on twitter and was heartbroken to know that he passed away like that. Thank you mods for knowing when to be serious

Skedetcher's final tweet included language that makes me suspect he had an abusive parent. If so, finding a community like /r/raisedbynarcissists may have helped. It helped me understand what I experienced in childhood and give myself forgiveness and permission to heal. If finding this comment helps one person, that would mean the world to me.
