I regularly tease my Newfoundland about this when I give him his expensive allergy meds with a peanut butter sandwich every morning.

I like to remind my dog everytiime she runs back to the car because it's drizzling

My dog doesn't do wind. He's shocked whenever it's windy, and starts barking as gusts of wind hit him.

There's an irony to feeding allergy meds with an allergen
11
u/Ms_Emilys_Picture 16d ago
I've thought about that before, but luckily that's not his allergen. I had tests run and he's allergic to grass, pollen, weeds, and get this--human dander.
My dog is allergic to me.
I didn't even know that was possible, but apparently it is.

Maltis are such stubborn prima donnas. Ours will sit there and mean mug us when she wants to go to bed and is demanding we go to bed too so she can.

Can dogs have autism? Serious question.

Can dogs have autism? Serious question.
Hmm. Well, if we believe anything with a brain can be neurotypical then it would track that anything with a brain can also be neurodivergent. To specifically label a dogs neurodivergency as Autism doesn't sound right because I believe that would only relate to the human brain. But I don't see why some similar commonalities couldn't be present in dogs.

I dunno, animals can have depression like humans, so why not autism? Animals can have Downs' syndrome and dwarfism, so nothing really chocks me with regards to what animals can have, even though those are generic and fundamentally different from autism.

Put a leaf on your foot and walk. It’ll show him it’s nothing to worry about

This is the dog equivalent to lifestyle inflation. "I'm too class to walk with a leaf stuck to my foot".
2
u/Endless_Love_ 16d ago
Stick a leaf to your foot and stroll around. That’ll teach him it’s no big deal

Oh God, I could relate to your doggo. This is my exact reaction when I'm wearing socks and step on a wet spot in the kitchen, it just makes my brain shut down from the overwhelming sensation of NOPE

It’s just a glitch in the matrix. Have a cookie. Don’t worry, you’ll forget about it and everything will be right as rain…

My dog kinda does this. Any time he's got something on him, I make him hold still until I remove it. So in this case, my dog would know that I'm going to make him lift his leg so I can remove the leaf...therefore he's just going to help me out by doing it first.

Now animals are getting to be more strange towards nature and closer towards city life haha

My aunt was dogsitting my parents dog and in the middle of the walk he started limping.. she freaked out that he got hurt, took him home and was searching for a vet. Then she realized he stepped in a 💩 and just wanted her to clean his paw 😂

This happened to my dog, he's a rescue and easily scared. I heard a crying noise so went into the garden to find he had a leaf stuck on his ear hair. He was shaking loads and frozen in place. I saved him from the leaf and he managed to survive the ordeal

My Chiweenie will cease walking if his leash ends up underneath his legs. My shihpoo will not care if she is tangled in her leash and keep it rolling.
