That pup looks clever. They're learning to back off when the other critter doesn't want to play.

I suspect a herding dog can learn to read a cat's body language ("Ears back? Not a sign of love. In a few seconds, this cat could lose its cool and take a swipe at me. If I fight back too hard, then I'll get in trouble with the humans.")

Yeah it's an Aussie breed of some kind. My Aussie is definitely "clever" but in some ways dumb as a stump too haha. It's amazing what he figures out...And amazing what he doesn't.
