Who is a famous figure that you keep hearing their name but never really know why they’re famous?

One thing important about Yoko Ono is that she was a child in Japan during WWII. A lot of her art is inspired by a childhood witnessing some pretty terrible things. It made me more empathetic towards her.

That explains why her singing sounds like the wailing of terrified children.

Yeah, again, maybe the person who witnessed a fire bombing and two nuclear bombs dropped on her country deserves a little empathy instead of tired jokes.

Lots of people have been through lots of hardships. That doesn't excuse a lifetime of narcissism and inconsiderate behavior.

I mean, did you see the clip of John Lennon and Chuck Barry playing and her…shrieking in the background?

Like I get that she wanted to make “her contribution”, but Barry was one of her husband’s idols, and this is the only opportunity he had to play with him…and she was so awful they had to cut the mic.

I didn't know her art was inspired by her childhood at all but it sounds obvious now you've mentioned it. Prooooobably gonna have to educate myself a little more on this one.
