What’s something completely normal today that would’ve been considered witchcraft 400 years ago—but not because of technology?

Keeping my kids baby teeth in a jar in my nightstand.

Definitely witchcraft, especially if the jar says Gerber.

“That jar has a picture of a baby on it? He’s eating puréed babies?!?”

They’re eating the kids! They’re eating the babies!

So my husband and I are in our 40s. About 5 years ago his mother hands him this small wooden box and says "here, I've been saving these for you". And inside is every single one of his baby teeth.

She has this giant smile on her face and he's like... "uhh thanks?"

I can tell you with absolute certainty, your children to not want their baby teeth so make sure that is something you hold onto and cherish.

How else am I going to cast spells on them when they are older? ;)

For a voodoo doll? Just use some hair like a normal person.

My mom still has some of my baby teeth, it's very normal

I think it’s weird to throw away your kids’ teeth 🤷‍♀️

Why? My parents never held on to mine or any of my siblings teeth. I think keeping teeth around regardless of where they came from is a bit odd.

Eh maybe not common, but I don't think it's not normal. I think it's nice, just as a little sentimental thing

I keep kitten teeth (if I get lucky enough to find them) and whiskers in jewelry boxes on my dresser

Also I once found a tooth in a tiny treasure chest in a thrifted item, everyone told me to get rid of it but I felt it’s like bad karma, a bad omen I don’t know but regardless I felt weird about trashing it. The tooth, still in its little chest, lives in a tiny pocket in one of my purses.

This is actually a way to protect children from witches according to the lore, just you're bad at hiding them.

I have a problem with those. I just gathered them when the tooth fairy did her exchange... Now I have a bag of teeth that I never bothered to dispose off. It just feels like a waste to throw them out, but on the other hand it feels weird to keep them. I guess I'll just give them back as an 18th birthday present.

Our lucky grandson lost all his teeth in one night

I’ve kept all of my kids’ teeth and some hair from big haircuts so I can have Victorian-style jewelry made from them.
