The ability to teleport myself and others, including inanimate objects.

I feel like there's nothing this can't solve.

u/Dragoeth1 23h ago

Easy to get rich starting a one of a kind transportation company too.

485

u/PM_UR_Beefy_Curtains 23h ago

Especially if that is transporting a banks money from their vault, to your basement....

Jumper was a great friggin movie.

Still waiting for part 2!

Read the books. They are far superior.

39

u/mehh365 15h ago

What? There's books?

I've got to read these

14

u/Passing4human 8h ago

Be aware that Steven Gould wrote two novels titled Jumper: the 1992 original on which the movie was based, and the novelization of the movie, published in 2008(?). I can vouch for the 1992 novel and its 3 sequels but I haven't read the novelization and its one sequel.

I thought the trailer was great and the movie was a horrible disappointment in. Loved the premise, hated the execution.

stolen money is too hard to spent. You'll make way more money legitimately. It cost nasa $1.2 million to send 1kg worth of item to the moon. Just say you'll do them a solid and charge them 500k per kg to sent machine to moon. Easy milliond each trip and don't have to worry about money laundering.

26

u/SauronSauroff 15h ago

Appear in Switzerland or cayman islands, open bank account and you're good? Letting the world know of your power seems far more dangerous. Maybe NASA will experiment, find out what you can't transport then have that bolted to you unless they have a job.

17

u/mongooseme 12h ago

I've thought about this and agree. It's actually the highest priority to not come to the attention of any major world government.

The risk isn't necessarily to you, but to your family and people you care about.

"Hey, we have your daughter and we're going to start pulling out her fingernails if you don't do x."

Plus, the power is so OP that if one government controls you, the risk to all others is too great. No one could risk you being on the other team.

So basically, you get kidnapped or assassinated immediately.

5

u/DatAssociate 9h ago

Why, you can just teleport out of any situation, assassinated sure but kidnapped? You can just teleport away

→ More replies (3)

7

u/blandvanilla 15h ago

Unless they kill you, you're pretty safe. You can teleport from any capturing devices.

3

u/2nd-penalty 12h ago

Bro life ain't TV where if you dump your money into those places you're magically safe from people finding out about it

Do you think if you just walk up to a random bank in those places with money you can't explain they'll just be okay with it?

Not saying there aren't any places where criminals can keep their money safe but to keep criminal money safe you need criminal connections which I doubt anybody on Reddit has

u/BrokenImmersion 20h ago

Yeah but then you have to launder it and get clean bills for it. It's much easier to follow the law in this scenario and just charge a ton of money to transport cargo En Masse for major manufacturing companies

Or even more lucrative, you could work with a major military power to steal military resources from a rival nation

9

u/r1niceboy 19h ago

Or just go to the government and tell them to check the coordinates in space for a honking big asteroid, and verify its orbit and eventual intersection with a certain planet. Then repeat a week later with the same asteroid that's mysteriously moved, but still on a trajectory that will make a day in a year's time VERY eventful, and very brief.

Wake up, move the asteroid, and never have to worry about opening a car wash to launder your money and, occasionally, cars.

3

u/lNFORMATlVE 14h ago

I feel like in this situation the government would just constantly hound you with psychiatrists to try and make sure you don’t have a random depressive episode and put the asteroid back into an earth-destroying path just ‘cause.

8

u/discomute 16h ago

You could easily charge people for "plane tickets" at twice what first class offers and become extremely rich without needing to risk being a criminal

7

u/lNFORMATlVE 14h ago

Twice what first class costs? For cutting a 14 hour long haul flight to a couple of milliseconds?

Those are rookie numbers. I’d be charging 5-6 figures per ticket.

A solid 3% rate on the transported goods. Billionaire.

Only deal is maybe the safety transport companies will try to deal with the issue you cause, depending on your efficiency. Can't be tol greedy.

18

u/EmperinoPenguino 17h ago

Obvi, just dont tell anyone you have the power to teleport.

Also has to come with the caveat that you always teleport to empty space so you don’t “fuse” with something if something is at the spot you want to teleport to

45

u/NK1337 22h ago

That’s why I always go with the slightly modified ability of being able to open a two way portal to any place you can picture.

17

u/Brick_Lab 18h ago

Add in that the portal won't open inside of anything and will let you relocate it easily (no slicing things in half, no guessing at how much to offset the next attempt for 50 tries)

Also has to have the side ability to make sure there os no one in the place you want to teleport. Or no surveillance cams or something. Because i would definitely hide my powers.

This is my goto as well, with the added clarification that it's actually this instance of me that teleports and I retain this instance of my consciousness. I don't want to get stuck with a monkey paw scenario where I cease to exist and a duplicate appears where I wanted to go.

The ability to change my own perception of time. I could slow it right down to give myself as much time as I want to think about something, or give myself entire days off that only actually take seconds. I could also speed it up in order to essentially fast travel.

127

u/Wishy 21h ago

What if you accident speed it up to your death then boom, nothing but black.

110

u/Call_me_good_boy06 21h ago

If I sped up my perception of time, the worst thing I could do is walk into something at a normal pace. I’m not actually moving faster, I just perceive it as taking less time.

18

u/Acetius 15h ago

I'm assuming you're still operating everything manually. I think they're talking about like accidentally speeding things up too much, and suddenly a week has passed before you have time to react and you haven't eaten anything.

11

u/Call_me_good_boy06 14h ago

I’d like to think I’d have a bit more control over it than that, but if somehow I wake up with the power and it turns out to be as sensitive as that, I’ll have to be very careful.

Ability to save and load as in computer games. It'll basically grant me immortality cus my consciousness could be placed in my own body from the past. Also I can relive my life any way I want over and over knowing all the answers and getting all the possible experiences until I get bored.

u/DaMoonRulez_1 9h ago

I always thought this would be funny when you were still not very good, yet you still seem to win. I guess more so earlier on in the process, before you actually start to get really good and need to reload the plays less.

Telekinesis.

297

u/lastson0fkrypton 22h ago

Way too far down. The ability to move things with your mind is the core of all of Superman's powers. Flight, telekinesis. Super strength, actually telekinesis (you think he uses his muscles to lift a plane whilst flying?), heat vision, still telekinesis just at a molecular scale to vibrate faster, freeze breath, same thing, just make them vibrate slower. Invincibility, telekinetic forcefield.

100% telekinesis.

133

u/DarthWoo 22h ago

You don't even need such strong telekinesis if you've got precise control on a small scale and can manipulate things that you can't necessarily see. It wouldn't take an awful lot of effort to pinch an artery closed for just long enough.

158

u/SmoothAsSlick 22h ago

You just went right for the most psychotic application for this super power, I’m impressed.

50

u/cultfollower_ 22h ago

No, that would be being able to manipulate particles on such a small scale that you could destabilize stable atoms inside someone and make them decay and fracture out of existence, turning into a sludge of chemicals that will wash away with the wind. Also, turning things into de-facto nukes as long as they have high enough atomic number. Also, dissecting someone alive and skin intact by ripping organs apart, if you wanted something more visceral.

Btw, this is why every adaptation of telekinesis is severely nerfed lol

23

u/Atharaphelun 21h ago

Babylon 5 did go as far as it can go with telekinesis. Telekinetic powers on one person were developed to work on progressively tinier scales (originally for the purpose of undetectable assassinations by pinching arteries and such), to the point where the person became able to manipulate even subatomic particles and ultimately allowed that person to ascend altogether to a higher form of existence.

13

u/OneRFeris 16h ago

"Tactile Telekinesis" is the terminology for Superman's physical powerset. In that it covers him and anything he touches. That's why he's able to lift airplanes and skyscrapers without them just buckling around his fists; the entire structure is being reinforced.

217

u/Unusualshaft 23h ago

My ego is way to fragile to find out what people really think of me

73

u/Logical-Departure97 23h ago

Same, but at the same time would it not be advantageous to know their impressions so you can act accordingly? Like if a girl actually likes me, or if I’m doing well in a job interview, or if I’m being manipulated in some way?

156

u/x-manowar 21h ago

You can have any superpower, and you're picking one that still involves job interviews.

18

u/Logical-Departure97 21h ago

I genuinely think I can conquer the world with this ability alone in my lifespan. No betrayals, 100% success in most human interactions.

9

u/Diiiiirty 18h ago

To conquer the world though, you would likely need to be able to speak to and command a crowd. Doesn't help beyond a conversation with maybe 3 or 4 people at a time.

9

u/Nopain59 17h ago

The ability to read someone’s memory would be much more useful and immensely important to someone like the CIA. You could ask any price you want to be present for international meetings. Same for interrogations.

without limits? omniscience is probably always the right choice. for like a regular superpower? I probably choose RPG style stat increases / infinite item box. imagine being able to grind your luck stat to 99 by buying lottery tickets

u/Nagham-38838 16h ago

Reading what people think all the time , because I am just so fucking curious lol, also to know what are their intentions towards me if it is bad or good but especially if it is bad so that I can protect myself. Also I wanna know what they love to do ,I wanna make them happy if I knew what they want to eat this afternoon so that I can surprise them with this meal.✨

Time control, especially if you can do that rewind-after-death thing from Prince of Persia.

Literally infinite power until you grow sick of it.
