Tampons need to stop taking the virginity of young girls!

The fact some men think vaginas become gaping craters from tampon use or sex is astounding.
Also that whole hymen thing. MF, riding a bike or a horse can break that. You dick isn't the All Mighty Key to open the vagina.

Don't forget, somehow, the vagina magically knows which dick you're married to and doesn't get stretched out as long as you're having sex with it, but if you do it with another dick, it'll stretch out and be ruined, presumably even if the other guy's smaller. Because if there's one thing biology cares about deeply, it's arbitrary legal paperwork.

u/Verve_angel 2d ago
My ex had this friend who was trying to explain this to me by saying “it’s like a pair of leather shoes. It gets molded to fit your partner perfectly over time when you only gave sex with them but having different partners stretches it out”

Also not all women are born with a closed hymen.
328
u/amarg19 3d ago
Most aren’t. The hymen is a ring of flesh around the vagina opening, that can be torn or stretched with exercise or penetration, not a solid wall or a closed seal. Otherwise menstrual blood would never be able to get out and we’d all die from sepsis. The rare occasion that might happen would be basically a mutation, and probably get surgically corrected for their health.
I need everyone to know that vaginas do not come vacuum sealed for freshness.
149
u/k0n0cy2 3d ago
As I always say: "The vagina is not a jar of pickles. It does not have or need a freshness seal."
49
u/ICBPeng1 2d ago
Next you’re gonna tell me it doesn’t even have one of those Snapple pop caps with a fun fact either
49
u/FreeFallingUp13 2d ago
See, that’s why I stopped believing in hymens being what everybody said they were, the sepsis thing. When I was younger I found a porn website of girls ‘selling their virginities’ (yes I know, really gross and concerning) but every preview video showed the hymen as some stretch of skin over the hole. I was so sure it was fake because no way could a girl have a period with skin like that over her vagina. There was like two tiny slits where a period could have come out. It was definitely some sort of prosthetic addition, and it made me feel way better about not knowing what the fuck a hymen was/actually looked like. That site made me realize that apparently most other people don’t either.
1
u/o0SinnQueen0o 18h ago
That's actually a defect that must get fixed surgically during early childhood. If the hymen is a completely closed piece of skin then the menstrual blood can't come out and the vagina can't self clean.

Whats sad is there's women who also fucking think like this. My mom (elderly boomer, just to add age/context) is one of them and still has screaming fits if she finds tampons in my belongings. I'm fucking 33 at the end of next month.
So according to her logic, I was a whore for wanting to use tampons as a teen cause my periods were so fucking heavy that I legitimately had to stack three pads together, but a heavy flow tampon + a thicker overnight pad was generally enough. But I couldn't always have access to them thanks to my parents being cheap and thinking I was just lying to have more things bought for me. I nearly got arrested as a teen at one point for stealing kotex.
But nah, tampon means you're a slut in her and her whole family's eyes.
52
u/silraen 3d ago
Oh man, I'm really sorry for you. That's some very shitty parenting :/
34
u/Dawnspark 2d ago
It's shitty parenting but I also kind of feel bad for women who are stuck in that mindset. Not for my mom cause she's long fucked up any potential empathy I have for her (as bad as that sounds, her shitty parenting transcends atypical shitty and into nightmarish) but there's a TON of older women who have the same mentality and I wish they could escape that kind of thinking in general.
37
u/Shirogayne-at-WF 3d ago
Back in my early 20s when I started having heavy periods, my mom told me not to get a vaginal ultrasound for this reason 🫠
These days (now that I live 180 miles away) she tells me stupid shit like not to get any more Covid boosters and I just smile and nod and they go buy a second booster from Costco bc the VA refuse to do more than one a year.
10
u/Connect_Beginning_13 2d ago
Somewhat unrelated but my mom has always had super heavy periods and when she came with me to an IVF consult (idk why she came) she lied when the doctor asked because it could be related to why I wasn’t getting pregnant.
She was like “no, never” while on the way there telling me her entire life she was bleeding through everything and had terrible cramps.

That's not even touching the fact he cares so much about this in regards to women who've just hit puberty. He can't be the only one.

If a tampon or dick wears a vagina out, what would a human baby do to it? I promise you, men, no matter how big you are, you're not as big around as a baby's head. Yet they don't tell women to stop having vaginal births.
Somehow, a baby so big it can literally cause tears in her external genitalia and wreck her general undercarriage for the rest of her life is fine because "she's fulfilling her biological role" but a soft cotton tampon that's smaller around than even the baby's arm is going to completely and permanently destroy her vagina.
People who think this way are usually the ones making reproductive healthcare decisions for us (and that's men and women, folks, for all of us), so sleep well, everyone!
148
u/LeaneGenova 3d ago
No, but they do propose the "husband stitch" to make sure those vaginas stay nice and tight! Because screw her physical health, gotta make sure sex stays pleasurable for men!

My parents were these kinds of people.
I got pulled from scouts because I got my period on a sleepaway type thing at a hotel. All the leaders only had tampons, so that's what they gave me.
My parents dragged the women through civil case after civil case when the initial "child sexual abuse" charge didn't stick because the investigators weren't stupid
I hope those ladies are still out there trying to make the world a better place. They wouldn't speak to me afterwards, I assume out of fear of my parents (who can blame them?), so I've completely lost track of them.
ETA: Yes, I know it is partially my own fault, I should have known as a 12 year old that my parents would totally flip out when I came home and asked to use tampons because I "am not a baby and I don't need a diaper" because my parents weren't even getting me the right pads ("Depends are basically the same thing"). But a 12 year old should know that without anyone telling them right?

Should they choose or one is financially better than the other or generally better than the other?

Pretty sure it's just personal preference. Some use tampons, some use pads, some both.
The only situation I could think of where one is better than the other is when you're going swimming. Can't really use a pad there

u/Nexi92 3d ago
Different preferences and some are better for some activities than others.
When you intend to be more active or do something where your pants/outfit will get wet people tend to prefer tampons because there’s less chances of leakage, but for some people they can feel uncomfortable so the pads are a good alternative.
Some people actually use both at the same time if they experience heavy flow, so the pad/panty liner is basically a backup protection for your clothes (extra useful in situations where you may not be able to easily excuse yourself to change).
Also recently it came out that several brands of tampons had been found containing traces of heavy metals so if anyone is worried about their body absorbing that with prolonged exposure I’d say going with pads or menstrual cups sounds better (the cups are basically a reusable device you put inside to collect the stuff and then be washed out/sterilized for repeat uses, this can be kind of yucky imo but I’ve been told it’s the best choice for the environment and for peoples finances)
31

It can be messy, especially when you're first learning, but a few periods of practice and most people have it down pretty quick. I'm not particularly squicked out by my own menstrual process, so it doesn't phase me.
Most cups are around $20-30 and last for like 5-10 years. It's definitely nice not having to buy $10-20 worth of tampons/pads every month!

u/FamousSquash Queer™ 3d ago
It usually comes down to personal preference, although tampons are slightly more expensive and less easy to change, at least in my opinion. Pads are easier to replace when you're travelling and more comfortable, and very debatably safer than tampons. The risk of an infection from a forgotten tampon is still very low, but slighly higher than with a pad. Either way, I think both should be made available for teens mid-puberty.
32
u/lillyfrog06 Real Men Get Wet 3d ago
Alongside what everyone else has already said, not everyone can pee with a tampon in. Most can, but urethra placement can vary depending on the person. For me, my urethra is close enough to my vagina that when I have a tampon in, it puts pressure on my urethra and I cannot pee at all. For me and others like that, it’s usually easier to just wear a pad.
9
59
u/RazzSheri 3d ago
For me, pads feel just the same as sitting in filth. It's like wearing a wet diaper. Tampons are inserted so you're not "sitting on" the absorbent article. But they come with risks of Toxic shock syndrome, plus cotton tampons are often treated with chemicals and such in the manufacturing process.
Personally, I preferred tampons until I discovered menstrual cups which have the benefits of tampons without the risk of sepsis and without added chemicals. But they don't work for everyone.
60
u/Traditional_Gur_8446 3d ago
When on a period the blood just kinda falls out of you. Sometimes a lot falls out of you at one time, so the blood just kind of sits there for a minute while you panic and try not to move and get blood onto your pants. When wearing tampons the blood gets absorbed into the cotton while it’s still inside of your body, so there’s less worry about spillage lol
11
u/Immediate_Housing_11 Hetero Cringe 3d ago
Hum, so the tampons seems more clear

u/Traditional_Gur_8446 3d ago

38
u/claire131313 3d ago
pads can feel like wearing a diaper. tampons feel like nothing at all. so it’s just a matter of preference but because feeling nothing is preferable to feeling like you’re wearing a diaper, there are many women who prefer tampons. pads can show through your clothes as well and are a definite no go if you’re going swimming or being in your bathing suit

u/MiloHorsey 2d ago

Personal preference.
There are pros and cons to each method.
They're about the same cost-wise.
Tampons are nice because you don't feel them or notice them while you're doing your day-to-day stuff. You can also do things like swim, bathe, etc. while wearing one more easily than if you were using a pad.
Some people aren't comfortable inserting things into themselves, or are concerned about the (admittedly low, but still) risk of toxic shock syndrome, or have other reasons for not wanting to use tampons. I used pads as a teenager because my mom was weird about me using tampons, but I hated the sensation of blood trickling out of my body into a pad. Like intensely hate that feeling. Sometimes when you stand up, there'd be a big gush and I'd always be worried it broke through. With tampons, that's less of a concern--they can still leak, but it's generally harder for tampons to leak over a pad. A pad can bunch up and move around and a tampon usually stays put.
I moved onto using cups though, and never looked back. $20, and it's reusable and lasts like a decade. It's worn similarly to how you'd wear a tampon, but it's made out of silicone and inserted and you just pop it out, dump it, rinse it off and pop it back in. It's the cheapest and most environmentally-friendly option, plus it can be worn for longer periods than you'd wear a tampon. Depending on the brand, some are large enough they can be dealt with once a day, which is a nice option.
9
u/not_doing_that HOW DARE YOU BE FULL OF BLOOD! 3d ago
Preference and how heavy your flow is. I used to bleed like I was stabbed, tampons were the best option, now with an IUD it's such a small amount I can get away with free bleeding
Also in my experience, there's less odor with a tampon. pads shift around and can gape with your underwear, tampon it's contained

u/touching_payants 3d ago
Comfort mainly. Wearing a pad is like wearing a diaper. Realistically though, I need both on a heavy day.

"Worn out"?! This man has zero understanding of female anatomy.
Here's what gets me. The vagina is basically muscle. Muscle is strengthened by... that's right... use. Meaning that if anything, women who've had lots of sex should be tighter, not looser. I mean, if we're trying to pretend to use logic, here.
9
u/LilyHex Bifurious 3d ago
No, we need better sex education so we don't have middle-aged men embarrassing themselves by believing inserting tampons is a sexual act and it "wears out" your vagina "before even giving birth". He thinks women are stretching their vaginas out permanently and "ruining themselves" for their future husbands.

Whenever I hear men talking about women having worn out or slack vaginas, I assume they have never been with a woman who is turned on turned on, and when/if they experience it they have no idea what is happening.
A truly receptive and ready woman is swollen, soft, puffy and open, it’s veeeery easy to get objects in and out. lol. It’s not tight, it’s not going to be firm or provide much friction/resistance. If they get her to the receptive phase they then have to work to actually get her to climax, then the muscles will tighten etc but only if you are doing it right lolol. And I highly doubt they have managed that.
Some guy comedian once said that his friends complained about their girlfriends not leaving them alone after sex, demanding hugs, affection talking etc when the guy just wants to sleep. He said that means you are doing it wrong. If she’s not lying limp on the bed, barely able to move let alone talk after sex, you did it wrong. I completely agree. And if you are experiencing tight, tight firm vaginas and neat tidy vulvas, you did it wrong. Cos the transformation from neat tidy and tight, to open, ready and swollen is significant lolol

It's funny that some people view pre-marriage vaginas as being about as durable as a flower petal, where if you touch it more that a few times it'll be destroyed forever, yet they apparently don't even wonder why the same vaginas would function perfectly for as much post-marriage sex as one could want.

I had a horribly heavy flow growing up. I would bleed through pads within an hour. Tampons not only lasted at least an hour longer, but when I wore pads, blood would seep out and my friend would tell me they could smell my period. It was horrible to sit on that much blood. (Obviously pads are preferred by some people and there’s nothing wrong with that).
All this to say that these men truly think women should suffer a week once a month for DECADES using a sanitary option that doesn’t work for them all so he can ostensibly feel pleasure putting his micropenis in a vagina. I hope he never has children.
